'mushroom stumbling' (back yard)
    #3198140 - 09/29/04 11:10 PM (19 years, 5 months ago)

Greetings,

Just making a (debut) post to share some pics of a couple of mushies I stumbled across in the backyard (PNW @ 900'altitude, under the pines) today.  Hopefully  I'll have much more (relevant) shroom images to share soon.  (Azure season) :smirk:

two images of same shroom (different side, w/flash & w/o) hmmmm.. image upload limit met (that was FAST! )  ~ see if this redirect workz on the other 2 I wanted to share (one more image of the above, and one of another mushie that is much more common here)

Cheers,
Nebu

Thanques for the kind words.

I've no clue on the first shroom ~ I have not seen one like that before (it is rather peculiar looking).  I am too faded & can't be mashed to do due diligence on an ID attempt at the moment... but perhaps I should and also post up it's stats (measurements, characteristics, spore-print color, etc.,) for those who might want to assist.  I'm all about azure hunting here and now... but that shroom is curious (so I'll get back soon w/more details).

Meantime ~ here's a(nother) freaky & rare creature from these parts ~> Cecropia Moth (6"/15cm wingspan).

Bon soir,
Nebu

bolete - thx dood, thinking you've got to be right (spongey under-cap being unique and an easy id).

Here's a few more from this am - another bolete (different variety tho) and two others...

Astoria is coming soon :mushroom2:

Cheers,
Nebu

yeah that's a yellow-fleshed bolete. I found a HUGE patch of them last weekend and picked probably 7 or 8 pounds! here's a pic of the first haul, I had another haul the next day a little smaller than this one. they are good to eat and are comparable to the zellers bolete for it's edible quality.
