high humidity

recently birthed cakes.. (see other recent threads for pictures), and now the shrooms on them are getting brown streaks due to high humidity.

my hygrometer reads at 99% (the box says the meter gets inaccurate in the 90s, but regardless).

when i fan thouroughly i can drop the humidity to 85-90% in the terrarium. but after i put the lid back in it jumps back up in the high ninties after only 15-20 minutes.

how can i keep the humidity down consistently by 5-10%? can i leave the lid to the aquarium off a little ways to accomplish this, or will that expose the cakes to too many possible contams???

i've even tried wiping the condensation off the walls, but it builds up really quick with the perlite in there.

my other thought was to remove some perlite??? i'm stuck... i don't want the shrooms to get over humidified much more, isn't this bad? or am i over-reacting and could i just leave the humidity very high and fan 4-5 times a day?
