Cheney flaunts the scare tactic.

Got this off the NY Times website.

"It's absolutely essential that eight weeks from today, on Nov. 2, we make the right choice," Mr. Cheney told a crowd of 350 people in Des Moines, "because if we make the wrong choice then the danger is that we'll get hit again and we'll be hit in a way that will be devastating from the standpoint of the United States."

Of course it will work...it worked the last time when they said that Iraq had WMD's and they knew where they were, and that that there would be dire consequences...blah blah blah...Americans in general can't seem to funtion unless their leaders give them something to be afraid of...be it Communism, Islam, Al Quaida, Saddam Hussein, Osama, Drugs, Terrorism...etc...from a Canadian perspective, I just don't get it.

Rono, I resent you mistating our GREAT presidents call to arms, it wasn't WMD, it was to liberate and free 25 million Iraqis, DUH :rolleyes:

I would like to see what the actual context for the remarks where. As it stands, I think it does sound like scare tactics, but on the other hand if Kerry did revert to the Clinton approach to terrorism, as it seems he might, it is a legitimate concern. I wouldn't have said it, but I think to a degree he is right.
