A fictional tale...
    #3069199 - 08/30/04 02:58 PM (12 years, 3 months ago)

A fictional tale... A beautiful organism by the name of B+ was recently given a home by another well-meaning but sometimes troubled organism called Homo sapien. Now, the wonderful B+ loved its home and was making use of all of it until recently. An uninvited guest named Bacillus moved primarily into the bottom part of B+'s home and made a few small spaces its new home. Bacillus also liberally spilled water everywhere. This Bacillus fella seems relatively benign yet still disgusting which leaves me with a question of concern. To all of those who have read this tale before, will the wonderful B+ be able to move into a better, more luxurious home and reach its full potential as an unadulterated adult?

Can you give a more detailed description of your problem ?
I don't even get if the cakes are still inside the jars or were already birthed.

Sorry about that, I got carried away. What I mean is this: One of my fully colonize jars has a few spots of what I believe to be bacillus at the bottom of the jar. I was inquiring if bacillus attacks the actual mushrooms(assuming the mycelium even get to the fruiting stage) and if the 'shrooms would be safe to consume? Should i go forward and berth the cake or just toss it?

I would toss it. Bacterial contamination is very hard to fight and consuming fruits from a contaminated batch can be dangerous.

Thank you MAIA for responding to my post. I will take your advice and toss it, though, it will be kind of depressing to do so. You see, this was my first venture into the wonderful world of magic mycology, the cherry popper, if you will. The upside is that I came extremely close to winning the battle so I'm confident I'll eventually win the war(I mean the battle waged literally between contaminants and my B+ and me, not the trite analogy or metaphor or whatever). Anyways, have a shroomrific day/night!

Thanks.
Just keep trying, you'll get there.
Believe me, if you keep improving it's just a question of time
