mushrooms covered in golden flakes..contamination?

I came across some mushrooms that have golden flakes on the stems... is this natural??? someone told me that it was PCP or laced with something., if u possibly know if they are natural or contaminated with something, please let me know. :)

if its just on the the base of the stem, that its just verm, cut that part off.

All over the stem? then i don't know what to tell ya

just to clarify it, most of the golden flakes are at the base of the stem, just a few not on the base, is this still verm.? and does it need to be cut off?

Sounds like verm. You should pick it off. I am pretty sure that it won't do you any harm but it can't be good for you to eat.
