I have always wanted to try these will they work with a rye/compost kit,or do they require too much for a beginner such as myself? Thanks for any info..........peace

I never grew any mushroom in my life, but after reading these pages :

It does not seems too complicated. I already chose the panaeolus tropicalis variety to start with.
You will defenitly need some cow manure, and the top casing layer must be very thin. Else from that, I dont see much difference.

As a wanabee, I find difficult to understand people grow psylocibe cubensis since it's quite less potent.
I probably need more education.

Heh, yeah.
While P. cubensis potency is merely 1/2 of that of Pan. cyanescens, the yields are more(much more) than double as good as with Pan. cyanescens. That's the reason I guess why more people grow P. cubensis.

I havent found it yet, but i read here you must be careful before you order...

Thanks for the education Anno ! I can undersdand why now. I think I will probably start with cubensis and grow the exotic stuff on the side for my very good friends.
