Opium is not the name of a plant. You can get opium from Poppy Plants (specifically - Papaver somniferum). Check out www.erowid.org and www.poppies.org to start.

Yes a simple search would have helped you out.

Opium is a product of the papaver somniferum plant. Its the dried latex that flows throughout the plant. Check out Opium for the Masses.. i think its by Jim Hogshire.. maybe he had the other book titled Opium, i forget i have so many...

By the way, welcome to the ethnogarden. Here you will learn alot about how really common plants (ones that grow in your back yard or can be obtained from local nurseries (even walmart)) can have powerfull medicinal, toxic, or even mind altering effects. I recommend you check out the stickies and the FAQ and if you have any questions feel free to ask.

I did give him a chance... i read his post...

"so is opium a plant, and if so wuts the plants name? ne pics would help iv smoked it many times b4 i just never looked up info about it "

never mind the retarded AOL speak. lets just look at the statement.

Hes asking if "opium" is a plant.
He states he has smoked it MANY times.

what do you think it is? a rock? an animal?
so this post is telling me (if its true) that this is a guy who will smoke anything i give to him.
he doesnt even know if its a plant or a fish or a little nugget from someones booty. and it seems he dont care, he will continue to smoke it anyways.
oh, and he wants pics of it too.

A piece of advice, google is your friend.
and dont go around smoking every little nubblet someone puts in your pipe.
for all you know u have been smoking cat food.
