sweet smell in the terrarium

Well I had two cakes go bad, one got some green and one got a cobweb. I tossed them and misted down the terrarium with 10% h2o2, I have a sweet smell in the terrarium everytime I open it. My first flush is coming in and I was wondering what I could to to save the rest of them from contams. I'm also getting lots of mutants and fatasses, this would be an air exchange problem right? The terrarium is a clear plastic bin with perlite on the bottom, it was cleaned out with 70% alcohol and the perlite was baked at 500 degrees for 30-45 mins. the cakes were dunked over night and put in the terrarium its been a week and a half to two week now. No smell untill recently. I have an air stone and a fish tank pump but i'm using perlite, would this be a problem.

Sounds like mabey your perlite is too wet. I have had some bacterial problems once in my perlite because of to much water.
Here is how I get my perlite wet. Put in a noodle strainer and soak it real good ,then shake it up and down. Get as much water out as I can, then put it into the chamber.

mutants are sometimes caused by petroleum products and some cleaners also.
