Alaska mushroom hunting

Here are some mushrooms I found while vacationing at Alaska (in Anchorage, none found in Denali Park, Whittier, or Seward in the short time I was there)

They are all obviously amanita muscaria and I love the under the canopy of grass photography on teh second- real neat shot man. Fifth shot is fantastic- also cool perspective how it is so grandiose. The last one is so beautiful. I hope you had fun in Alaska- That park is a neat place to romp around. Should have got ya some of the caps- the potency can't be beaten in my opinion- I got some shipped down from Alaska recently and they were the best looking, largest caps I've ever seen and the potency was wild compared to the locals. Also teh side effects were (seemingly) much diminished as well- freaky huh? Where else did you go while you were there? Anchorage is a weird, neat litle town. Good people- good food. Wondeful pics- thanks for sharing.

nice pictures. A. muscaria are quite common up there. my mother was lucky enough to have just returned from a trip to visit relatives in anchorage the other day.

If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

ty much, my favorite pic is the second one as well. The view of the world from a shroom looking upwards .

It was the most beautiful vacation I have ever been on. The only places I was at was Anchorage, Denali, Whittier (on prince williams sound glacier cruise), and finally Seward (for an amazing nature cruise). The only real time I had to explore on my own was in Anchorage, which is like a soupbowl of flat land around water and mountains. Looking at Mt. McKinley from Anchorage, about 150 miles away, is amazing. 20k feet is just insane.

If pictures could only show how beautiful this place is, I hopefully will get some panoramic shots I tried to take.

No, I had no way to dry them and had no time to be eating them while I was up in Alaska, so they are there in one form or another right now .
