The forest paths can be good if people ride horses along them. I think spores are spread with the dung. So not any forest path, or forest. It needs to be grassy enough (not shady), and horses around, then the chance increases.

Reddit, and facebook. Apparently there is a Norwegian Lib Group on facebook holding some 12 000 members. I've seen some of the discussions, with some serious input, but there are a lot of clueless and stupid comments, most of which would have been deleted if posted here.

I believe there are similar groups in most other European countries as well. There are also quite a few people appearing to sell their spoils, which is more than likely attempts at scamming. A friend of mine said he downed at least three different UK groups on facebook where the group admins were blatantly pushing libs using stolen pictures of large hauls. I bet some of the pictures might have been lifted from here. In my opinion this must be the lowest breed of scammers out there. I was told some people actually opted for buying libs for like 50 euro per gram or something, which is completely ridiculous, even to the point where they almost deserve being ripped off.

That being said, I haven't been that active this season, very few mushrooms around in general probably due to a cold spring and a chilly summer.
I found three quite meaty libs yesterday, though, but no pictures I'm afraid.

I notice a general fading of the old school forums in several very different fields, in my case music-related, cooking, and different science fields. It's very sad, I love the combination of pseudonymous culture and a meeting place for nerds. I have learned so much from so many people in many different forums. Traffic has moved on to the big social media platforms, as Anglerfish noted, and also to AI interfaces.

I think the trend overall is towards less communication.

Before, you needed to ask about id on some mushrooms, or a question about something if you couldn't find an answer yourself. And a discussion rose, you maybe ended up learning something related etc
Now, you point and let an AI give id, and an AI answers every question with delight, no need to ask humans anything...
And all became quiet.

I'm glad there are some people left on the old school forums. :smile:
