The point is - they made the game, and if you don't want to pay for it then you shouldn't be allowed to play it. Can I ask for my money back at the theater? No. if I hated the movie, tough shit. Software is no different.

And yes, believe me, I've bought shitty software. City of Heroes? That game can slowly toungue-bathe my testicles. Horizons? Even worse.

But this argument is one of those arguments that has no end to it, so fuck it.

If you complain and leave a movie EARLY, you can get a refund. I've done it a few times.

I'll feel sorry for ID software and the millions they are going to make on doom 3, and all the people stealing money from them, when they enforce companies to allow software to be returned to the store if you are unhappy with it.

Until that happens, Im going to continue to 'try before I buy' beacuse I'm just not rich enough to waste hundreds here and there everytime someone releases some screenshots and some idiot is paid off to write a good review on something.

i think d3 will still get plenty of money in the end though
not to mention if people start buying the engine from them in order to make their own game using it

ontopic: i'm not gonna waste my hd space on d3
even if i could run it.. which i probably cant, and my system is decent sans my video card
ive become so tired of fps, no matter how pretty they look, i hear the only decent thing to d3 besides how it looks is the story, and thats not worth 55$ when i can just watch a movie for 5$

Using that line of logic, ori;

Would you rather watch two people having sex, or be the guy putting it to the lovely lady?

Doom3 is Interactive entertainment, which makes it better than wasting 2 hours watching a movie, that no matter how many times you watch it, it will never change.

I love the game, i just bought it and highly recommend it to those willing to sacrifice fifty dollars (walmart price), hard drive space, and time.
