Might have more later, but now I've got a couple entry choices in the bag. All three are KSSS. I'm not seeing any of the squat pheno yet, but they seem to do well top-fruiting in a water tub.

Lil update my fellow warriors, the first jar is showing signs of life! To my surprise it's PEU variety. I'd guess that's because I made substrate on the wetter side.:idk:

This grow is a tribute to all different styles of growing from Tub in Tub, Mono with Micropore tape, half pint cakes in 6qt shoeboxes, water tub, and C/V cake coating from leftover substrate material.  Thank you for getting me excited about cakes, Faht's doubles stacks years ago almost got me to do cakes for the first time, but I had so much going on and didn't pull the trigger.  Cheers Faht, you killer cake cultivating compadre... your influence can never go unnoticed.  :peace:

Yeah, I mixed up one of the cakes, but no worries, it's an APE Revert cluster, gives up spores easy, and is... strong... for a cube anyway. Thank you for the compliment... Not bad for a MSS syringe, and refreshing some genetics, works for me.

Wow, I just noticed this is post 777, oh boy, my lucky numbers in slots.  I have hit many 1000 quarters on numerous machines back in the day.  I hit 3 in one day, but the big one was red, white, and blue 7's on a Three Stooges machine in Tahoe, 10000 quarters, it came with a W2 :lol:

I'll never forget the machine went crazy, I didn't know what was going on, I just knew it didn't give me my money, but it kept doing the Three Stooges, Woob, Woob, Woob, over and over so I knew something was happening, but never expected 2500 bucks. I'm over here like... where is my thousand quarters, didn't realize they were adding a zero.  I haven't had the fever in a while, overdue.

Looks like things are moving along very nicely for many!  I apologize for the long absence - it’s been a trip, and I intend to be around more going forward.

Please make darned sure that “Cake Wars III” is included in or ON (as in added after the fact using software if necessary) any photos that might be used for an entry pic. I don’t wanna have to play the bad guy and disqualify anyone on a technicality. I really suck at playing the bad guy, always have & it makes me feel like I’m being mean.

Decided to try coir now. The verm worked great, but was harder for me to tell what my surface conditions looked like. So, why not try coir? (One jar top fruiting, it kinda broke up on one side, so we will see what it does?)


Edit: top left cake does have a lid under it, the coir just covers it perfect in this picture.

Coir is the way. Nice and wet, way over field capacity, stick it on all around, nice and even, in a little dish and then BINGO you won the cake war. That's how it works. Cakewonder will back me up.

It was nice and wet I think, but maybe it’s not wet enough, my wife tells me that that often. I gave it a good spray down in the tub as well. We will see how I did! Thanks for the advice, I will go above FC next time from the start!

I also have an experiment to try to top fruit some failed cakes using coir, but they are in an umodded water bath tub, and IDK if there will be enough FAE but imma keep that to myself till the end to save embarrassment. Haha

I can tell you I did my C/V mix for a few Mexicana and an Ingeli tub, and having a spray bottle close to add water helped so much attaching CV to cakes.  Great advice bluescreen, WET is the way to get it to stick and play. Word play for the day, thanks Joe for the inspiration (wives... SO honest).  :rofl:
