Happy to help! No doubt, that's one of the things I love about the Shroomery, first hand trial and error from decades of cultivators, gives all new growers a leg up. So much misinformation out there on the topic of growing mushrooms.

Took some pics last night. Three days after adding pseudo casing and 6 days after s2b. I can tell it’s grown more over night!

Alas pics were hard to capture in detail what I want to show. I see these tiny tiny structures that look white and kinda pointing up. Pic with no flash the one with flash.



What are these? Fucking cool watching this thing go.

wal mart, and I believe target have 6qt tubs for around a buck, sometimes dollar tree as well

I was hoping those were hyphal knots!! Are all those tiny “sticks” the knots? Like in the last picture (pic7)? Cause that would be wild. The tub is looking different than a few hours ago. Feeling lucky to get this far.

Hope those three work days go quick. Gotta play a little catch up.

Still watching in awe.

Yes! The stick are the knots,  they are like little clumps of mycelium that want to grow up and become mushrooms:thumbup:

Hope everyone’s getting a good recharge from the week.

The past few days I’ve been met with the great teacher. Patience.

I’ve been having so much fun with this new hobby. Feel more at peace since starting.

All this said I don’t know shit about fuck but thanks to everyone I’ve made it here:mushroom2::mushroom2:

Please let me know your thoughts on what you see.
I’ve got my micropore laid horizontally then vertically over top. Currently I’ve peeled back the top layer leaving a single layer of micropore over the holes on the side. The two ends of the tub I’m using filter disks. Should I replace with micropore tape?  Moisture on the side walls and top seems good. Droplets that aren’t running down the side. The temp has been staying 69-70s. Sometimes up to 73 in the warmer part of the day.

Mycelium looks happy.  Congrats !!


To answer you're initial question,  typically you want to reserve a little sub to ensure the grain-sub mix doesn't have exposed grains

But you want to go 100% colonization (plus a potential week of consolidation)  covered, then apply a proper casing layer, then open up FAE for fruiting
