yes exchanging the tubs enviorment a few times a day more evaporation it resets the enviorment like the wind blowing over a feaild :headbang3:

My shoeboxes turn out awesome and I don't have to spend time fanning. Passive air exchange from where the lid meets the tub works well. The less work I have to do the better:hehehe::mushroom2:

I dunk them after every harvest.

If I notice they're firm — 20 to 24 hours. If they're a bit soft — 8 to 16 hours.

That's a nice cakes you've got over there.

@reishi: welcome to the battlefield! Pepper grinder? Damn son. I think you can get away with whole wheat flour in cakes without any issues for future reference.

edit:

Two Albino Country Cock Towers from the Bon Maman Jars, BRF. Totally lost track of which cakes were which flours but guess what its all food (those were BRF though)



and my next challenge for Eungella, a 800ml to 1000ml straw cake, Muda RecIPe. The bottoms are Canadian made PP5, wasn't sure on the lid, assumed it was also microwave safe. Wrapped the tops in foil, they did not melt.



I wish these were clear, but, from what I've seen as using them as little tubs is that you can at least see colonization. Needle isn't gonna quite reach, so these will get 2ml per hole, and venture downwards.

The containers themselves are 1100ml, but they are not close to being full so I'm under the 1000ml limit. Anyone else trying massive cakes?

What MS looks like on this recipe.

Reishi, I know the pain... When you're halfway through grinding and your forearms are already looking like Popeye's.

Huskies, I've never gone over 360 ml. But as soon as I get a 500 ml PP5 container — I'll try it. But I don't like inoculating in the center, it makes me nervous not being able to see how the mycelium is developing.

By the way, the cake in the first photo — what's the volume on that?
