Update on some cakes that I used a straw based recipe from Muda, where you actually cook it all together first. Turned out quite messy, some of them turned into a starchy mass. I probably didn't drain it enough.

That being said, mycelium seems to be loving it.

Surprisingly, some MS inject ones are also colonizing well, and quicker than standard PF Tek by a long shot.

I also failed with my Enigma LI it seems. Molds also love it. WHich means that the MS ones are likely clean or they would've been outcompeted already.

edit:

Another Small KSSS cake (100ml snack container) was ready, so it got it's aerial fruiting chamber. Didn't consolidate, but it was a pristine looking puck

Update on my first KSSS Coir Cake, after getting rolled. Smells a bit sweet, either baccy or I soaked it for too long or both.

Sibu, a Costa Rica land race, devouring muda recipe straw despite the starchy mess.

The recipe calls for cooking everything together first. I wonder if that makes it more like shit for the mycelium, extra predigested before PCing.

edit:

Other cakes that are done, didnt necessarily consolidate (i used 5 holes), but are pinning already, so gonna dunk then roll.

I use something very similar too. I don't know about Scemi, but I make mine out of wire.
