This is simply false. Hitler rose to power when the Nazi Party won 37% of the vote. Him becoming chancellor was a political deal...not a populist election.  After becoming chancellor, elections were single party affairs and not elections at all.  To say that he "gained the respect and adoration of his entire nation" is ridiculous.

That only works to their advantage these days. They act like making that comparison has been cheapened. Meanwhile they made that comparison Obama's whole presidency because he made a lot of executive orders.


That comparison is just as fucking stupid.

The comparison does abstract and reduce political literacy.  They are very different things.  If we are going to navigate any power towards the people, it is going to be by improving political intelligence and ability to debate... Not partisanship.. not hyperbole.. REASON and articulation of complex social issues will give power to up and coming communicators to become leaders.

My point remains.  Hitler and Trump are drastically different leaders, from drastically different backgrounds, who came to power in drastically different ways.

No one is comparing their backgrounds.  The comparison is based on their conduct.  If you're saying the conduct is drastically different, you're simply wrong.  Trump is very clearly moving toward dictatorship and has stated his intention to do so.  Trump has enacted fascist policies and will continue to do so. Trump has used hitler's tried-and-true method of lying to the public in order to increase his power.

Trump has even claimed Greenland and Canada as his own.  This is precisely what Hitler did with Austria.  That it hasn't fully come to fruition isn't because Trump changed his mind...

Pointing out comparisons of americas hitler to germanys is not partisan but is good political intelligence and ability to debate.  When true, it is not hyperbole.  It would be more hyperbole to try and hide the comparisons.

I mean, when the shoe fits and we know the outcome from history, hiding it will do no good.  It is not over yet.  It is not the guy saying I love trump but lets try something different that is going to be the communicator that is going to lead.  It is going to be the guy who says we will tear down his reichstag ball room that is going to be the communicator you speak of becoming leaders.

well when 2028 comes around, and we haven't had an american hitler, be sure to help the democrats kill off a bunch of people then blame it on trump. at this point that is more likely than trump actually going about and committing a genocide.

I mean the democrats literally made something a felony AFTER trump did it and then charged him with 34 counts of it and tried to put him in jail for it. Meanwhile, not 3 years prior Hilary Clinton did it and got a 180,000$ slap on the wrist. I would say that is almost as corrupt as a crypto rug pull scheme

literally what got trump re-elected was the left calling trump hitler and most of the center and non-maga GOP who probably would've either sat out of the election or voted for a democrat that wasn't Kamala ended up voting for Trump. I'm sure you feel a smug sense of moral duty to call a man you feel is Hitler, Hitler. But since it doesn't resonate with most people, especially most rational people, you alienate them. I know its hard to wrap your head around, but that's how the world works.

Truth is Trump isn't Hitler. He's been in political power for 10 years now, 6 of which he was president of the USA. Yes, he is retarded. No he hasn't done any Hitler-esque actions or policies.

Maybe more should have called hitler "hitler" in 1937 or 38.  Been better then mass suiside that happened in 1945 when the supporters lost thier idenity.

For you maybe. The comparison is about the ways in which he is and has eroded societal structure. Hitler used the jews as a tool to do that.  Trump is using immigrants. The identity of the scapegoat is irrelevant. It's about power.
