They sure are!

Unfortunately, no I don't think one could. I've tried this more than once but the farthest I got was a few pins that wouldn't really mature. Iirc my 'failed' attempt is in the op of this thread.

I might add that even with automation, pins don't just automatically turn up. It seems they need the kind of super high relative humidity that you can't fully replicate in a normal monotub.

Sometimes in life, the most random shit can lead to discovery. In this case, one of my timers malfunctioned and it lead to a situation where the tubs were saturated with mist. The pc fans in the tubs that normally push dry air in for 1 minute per 10 minute cycle, weren't working. It was 'a blessing in disguise' though! This is what triggered all the pinning action.

I like to think it was the universe lending me a hand. Like, this dude is never gonna find out on his own: Let's intervene! Lol

Is there still a lot of room for improvement?
Absolutely! I actually believe that canopies are totally possible.
So far, I've been treating them pretty much like tropical Cyans, but they are not that, at all. Theg are genetically on a different branch than the Subaeruginosae / Cyanescens clad. Seeing that they require at least some potting soil or maybe they prefer a whole other casing or substrate additive altogether. So much is left to learn about cultivating this species.

I'm undecided right now if I want to tackle them toppling over with maybe a ip68 6500K led strip on the lid in future grows, or let it be.

From my observations they only pin where there's some potting soil on the wood chips. If only a mm or two but rarely do I find a pin coming right out of the wood chips with no soil present.

I'm going to keep both tubs in fruiting conditions for a while longer and see of they want to continue fruiting or not, before I use them as spawn for more tubs.

When u say before using them as spawn seems like your talking about super spawning? Can you show your steps involved in using a old tub of India woodlover to make more spawn πŸ˜…

Okay gotcha Tweeq! Ill be trying an automated monotub soon. There's notes being taken on my end forsure :smile: the substrate did look quite wet from here so I figured a wet sub and casing would be needed

It's so funny how some of these things work out! The universe was like let's help him out and make a few little adjustments haha you killed it with these through and through and I do feel alot was learned 😎🀟🏽 thank you for sharing Tweeq! Keep us updated on any further possible flushes

Will take some pics when I get into it and post them here.

It's pretty straightforward actually.
The grow is already non sterile as it is. My plan is to simply dump the contents of these tubs out in a cement bucket, mix with new soaked wood chips and fill up 4 - 6 new tubs with the mix. After all this is exactly what I did with the current tubs.

It sounds easy enough but any non sterile grows indoors come with problems. For example, I hqve gnats in both tubs right now and both have some tiny spiders in them that are helping me get rid of the gnats! I didn't put them there but the tubs have been outside (under a roof) all summer long with no lids on them. So anything could have crawled it's way in.

I'm basically trying if I can get away with infinitely expanding the mycelium wood 2 wood, with fruitings in between. That's the goal.
