Mycelial Network : Human Brain Stem Network * 2
    #29669821 -

This post is my limited understanding of how psychedelics affect Humans based on my own experience.

I will be brief:

Mycelium is an interconnected network. Human brainstems and the connections to the limbs and organs and sense receptors is an interconnected network.
Psychoactive producing fruiting bodies (cubes for example) have compounds that excite the human nervous system.

In my own personal experience, every time I consume active fruits, I feel 100% capable to do anything I think about.

I literally get excited because I remember that anything is possible. This opens up Pandora's box. If you think about bad things, you open yourself up to experiencing these things (Bad trip). If you think about good things, likewise, you open yourself up to experiencing these things (Good trip).

I have (personally) permanently realized that focusing my mind on the thoughts of what I intend to experience is my permanent way of life.

Now, along with an excitation of the nervous system, active fruits also produce a respiratory inflation. IME, I feel the utmost natural ability to breath more air per breath, taking in more oxygen per breath, which makes me more light on my feet due to my percentage of weight being more gaseous & bouyant.

This is what I experience as floating, it literally feels like I am twice as light then I was before.

Since the mycelium is an interconnected network, it seems to force more interconnection within the consumer (ie. More balance/measured thinking and more systematic thinking)

It seems as though that which we, as humans, consume, we turn more into that thing. This is where the adage "you are where you eat" comes from.

That is all for now. I may add more when I think of it...

i have felt this before, this sensation of seeing everything laid out so clearly and it all feels so doable. it's like an inversion of the shroom ritual - setting an intention for sober times! if you experience this, write that shit down before the shrooms wear off and you forget.

as far as mycelium and the human brain both being interconnected networks... one could argue they are merely their own subsets of larger, infinite interconnected networks. i dont think the effect shrooms have on our brains is intrinsic to mycelium being a network interacting with another network. this argument could be made with many things that could be described in such a way. though maybe i'm not reading you clearly.

Precisely, seting intentions for sober times is the perfect way to put it, and a very practical way to keep insights from your trip.

I agree the mycelium and brains alike are indeed subsets of infinite interconnected networks.

I see it in this example as a human being (me) consuming the fruiting body of an interconnected network (shroom) which through the "law" of 'what you eat you become' leading to a expanded and inconnected view of consiousness where as humans, we are the 'fruiting bodies' of the human organism as a whole.

And by me consuming this more integrated and interconnected way of thinking, I am able to see the "bigger picture" leading me to set personal intentions clearly and to perform them precisely

Stamets has some illustrative pictures of plants that have been grown with and without mycelial connections. The ones without connections are weaker, smaller and less healthy overall with reduced immunity to pathogens.

Psilocybin mushrooms enhance our mycelial connections within our bodies and to the universe around us. These connections support both mental and physical health.

I have felt the lightness and enhanced breathing too, but don’t think it’s based on the volume of air we breathe. The improved breathing is one of the benefits of psilocybin experiences. Feeling lighter may be influenced by the effect of putting down emotional baggage, more efficient energy production and the anti inflammatory properties of psilocybin fungi.
