preparing to grow Psilocybe allenii
    #29664296 -

Hello everyone I'm new to the forum. I wanted to share my plan to grow Psilocybe allenii. I need to rehydrate spores and grow on agar and clean with agar transfers, grow and make spawn, dig a hole and bury 2 kg of spawn with 100L of fresh oak woodchips. I was told that allenii can handle contamination better than cubensis even 30% bacterial infection and still grow. It's definitely a feasible project

This is a daunting first initiation that I take seriously and am honored to take. It's my first grow but I've done plenty of research and am planning everything. Wish me luck! If I get mushrooms I can save prints to trade/give away

It wont be until next spring but in the meantime I need to build a flowhood and start cleaning my spores with agar until I have something worthy

I also need to make an incubator out of plastic boxes and a fishtank heater  but thats easy

If anyone has advice chime in & let me know
Thanks, I'll keep this updated as the project moves along

I would try to make the spawn as clean as possible and expand it to woodchips indoors. Then take the colonized wood and use that as your outdoor spawn. Will keep animals from wanting to get into it. At least that is what I would do, but I'm not a super big outdoor guy so maybe grain is the way to go.

Just keep remembering my dogs back in the day digging up and eating only the active shroom beds

I imagine a groundhog getting super fucked up on shrooms lol

The person that gave me the spores told me that growing them indoors wouldn't work as well as an outdoor grow.  I might take that extra step though

Dogs on shrooms [Re: allenii]

How did your dogs react to that? Did they appear to trip out on you? Just curious

My dogs knew damn well what they were doing. They loved to trip. As for growing them, you definitely don't want to fruit them inside, just spawn them to pasteurized wood chips inside and let them expand in that. Then use the chips as spawn to start beds outside.
