1 cake = 6 nice shrooms and 2 strange looking ones

I don't see any signs of contams
but on one of my cakes i have 6 of the most perfect mushies i've gotten so far
tall, straight up, kinda all six somewhat aranged out of the same base
nice uniform brown cap color, everything looks good
but,
on the other side of the cake there are these two that came up
they're not aborts... they've grown all the way out, and their veils are breaking
(along with the six good ones)
they're just really thin, and their caps have a strange color
they have a dark brown "nipple" in the middle which kind of fades to grey,
then almost bluish hatch marks all around the outside of the cap
the 6 are straight up, but these kinda "smiley face" out to the side
i know this don't matter, on my other cakes they are popping out in every direction
(cant wait till my poo casing is done)
ne wayz
the jar was either creeper or florida.... i'm guessing florida, they look more like them to me but these misfits seem to look more like creepers with their nipples
but the color is still way off
I NEED A CAMERA!
if you all can help me out that'd be coo
are they fine? dangerous?

If there are no signs of contams then they are fine. Healthy cakes will occasionally push out a mutant mushie.  :grin:

If the cultivator takes reasonable precautions then how could a chemical pollute a cake, cause one or two mutants and leave the rest of the cake unscathed? Doesn't seem very likely, does it?

Mutations happen. I once had a cake grow a golf ball sized tumor on it's side. When I cut it open it was healthy mushroom tissue. Tasty!

I say if the cake is healthy and other shrooms look good then munch the mutant.  :laugh:
