when was the last time anyone looked at the "comments" section?

i was clicking around the front page and i found this superfluous comments section at the bottom of the "general information" page. i dunno if anyone's looked at it recently but im guessing not because its full of spam messages, confused people, and people trying to buy and sell drugs.

Yeah, that's a good point, thanks for the example. I had high hopes for the comments functionality but it seems to have ended up being more of a place for lost members. It would probably make sense to kill the comments entirely at this point, but I also never really created good moderation tools which is how it got to the state it's in. I may try making some bulk moderation tools and cleaning out the crap to see if the functionality can be salvaged. For now I got rid of the comments you highlighted.
