LC w/agar vs spores

I’ve been learning about doing my own LC’s and I see in this very helpful guide that it’s not advisable to use existing LC and that a slice of agar is much better.

Is that still considered accurate?
Is it just a bit more likely to get contaminated?
Or are the results expected to be much worse?

Yes it's still accurate. Starting from agar is safer because you can verify the agar is clean first. LC will exploit any contamination you may have (and can't verify) with your starting LC.
