First time here, General question.

Hello there,
I just grew my very first mushrooms, it feels very exciting to say the least!
Generally speaking, I have no idea what I'm doing, so I got an all-in-one kit which is bearing fruit right now. I'm unsure how to proceed from here.
My bag is not ventilated; it doesn't have built-in ventilation, which leaves me for now with only one option: to ventilate it by hand a few times a day. My question now is, how often should I do that? What precautionary steps should I take before I do that? And generally, all tips are welcome!
The strain is Mckennaii. I started the grow on June 2nd.

If the top of your bag is open, you can just fold it down 'closed' and pin it there with a clothes pin or whatever. That should allow for enough FAE.
If you mist, try to aim for the walls of the bag and mist gently, try to avoid too much water on your sub.

Haven't seen a kit like this before.

Looks more hopeful than most. Nice work!!

Letting them breathe twice a day for now. They seem to be doing good with that; more started to grow, and the ones already getting bigger show no fuzzy feet or signs of dryness.
The walls are constantly foggy i only sprayed them the very first day i saw signs of grow, guess i dont have to spray them that frequently that thing is basically an ecosphere.

Shouldn’t be all that different than a zipblock grow. Faht uses a syringe to poke holes. It would probably work better than fanning it 2x per day. :shrug:

Most definitely, but for the first time, I was very aware of contamination that might make it into the sphere due to that. So I stuck to this method for now; next grow, I will try myself out a little more. :wink:

And rn its getting crazy warm in my place i hope it all goes well, because theres no way i can cool it down properly rn tbh...
Its around 24-27 degrees tops in the room sometimes.


Not sure about the veil, any idea when it might start to break?
Am busy the whole day today and considering maybe partially harvesting them.
