dumass city slicker question

Ok, yall country folk are gonna laugh your asses off at me, but i have to ask...

um, where do you keep your straw? do u just chuck it in the backyard and lay a tarp over it? would that promote mold to grow on it? do you put it in the basement? would that promote mold?
do you put it under your pillow when you go to bed at night? would that cause a big mess?

i know its a dumb question, but i dont live on a fuckin farm... i had to search high and low for a fuckin bale of straw.....
i just wanna know where to keep it :P

i keep mine under my pillow thats how i incubate it also my head gets nice hot and sweaty created great growth lol
but i keep mine on a pallet in the backyard sunny area

Store the hay in a well ventalated dry storage area. This could be
indoors or outdoors, in garages and the like, and even in apartment
sheds. It's fine to be exposed to
humidity as long as it's well ventalated

Don't: Store the hay in plastic. Plastic draws moisture which causes
mold and rot. Plastic could be a garbage bag or even a trash bin with
or without a lid don't use either. Also, if you buy hay from
pet stores in those plastic bags, get it out of there into a wooden or
cardboard box- something that breathes.

Don't: Store hay on concrete or directly on the ground. Again, this
draws moisture causing mold and rot.

Don't: Break up the bale if you don't have to. Even when kept in
perfect conditions the outside of a bale will discolor a bit (to the
lighter side). However, when it is broken open the center will
be just as fresh as when it was baled.

I wrecken this will help !! :P dam city folk and there greasy hair lol

I have seen a lot of straw in my day and I have never seen it mold...even after being in the rain....tho I'm sure its possible....prolly best too keep in a garage thats where I keep mine

i dont have a well ventilated storage area....

my front porch is hot and stuffy (plus the hay makes a friggin mess)
the basement is hot and stuffy....
i dont have a garage, or a shed....

my options are.....
concrete patio, wooden deck, or grassy yard...
none of them are enclosed, none protect from rain....

i guess ill just toss it in the backyard.. maybe UNDER the deck? its well ventilated... grassy.... but its gonna get wet, thats fer sure.. unless i put a tarp over it when it rains...

guess i just answered my problem...

With a VERY heavy down south accent: Durin' the summer time we end up with a sheetload of straw bales and even more fuckin hay. we just stick it in the barn and use it to feed the cows. Do you have a purdy mouth? Iffin' you do, you can store your bale in my barn if ya want. lol

Outside in the grass or under the deck is fine. The only thing that would probably happen is it might compost a bit. This is fine, actually probably better because it's giving you good bacteria. I just wouldn't leave it outside for prolonged periods of time, it might lose quality.

To me it seems like keeping it inside would be worse; things don't mold over that often if kept outside. I leave my straw on the bricks by the side of my house.
