Strawberries are starting.

My garlic has done well this year. This is about as big as it is when I harvest and we are just now getting scapes. We still have another month before harvest.

nice pics everyone!....
roscoe that garlic looks awesome, we just pulled ours last week but was just a handful. im looking forward to over doing it when I can.

slowly putting peppers in as im taking cabbage and lettuce out....of all the cabbage I started, only 6 chinese/Napa (?) and 4 red varieties made it:/....the Napa has been in a brine for a week, the others will hopefully finish soon.

started a little 8×8 area to try a 3 sisters patch in.  the beans and peas have been starting and im hoping to put the squash and watermelon in next.....i think more watermelon germinated than squash but I didnt label.

I read i should've planted the corn in mounds but I did not.  also not sure if i spaced too far apart but not all the corn i started had popped so i wanted to fill the area out still...blue hopi, peaches and cream, and an Amish butter popcorn make up whats there.

Anyone else compost? Do you put your spent substrate into the pile?

I have had a lot of substrate to compost and boy does it end up beautifully. So many things living in the pile too. I really appreciate the ability to recycle scraps and feed it back to my garden.

I do. I am careful about adding too many wood blocks though.

nice yeilds, the strawbs look succulent too.
:homerdrool:

I'm inspired to step up my own strawb situation next year.

Got all sorts coming through phat now! Hollyhock looks like it has a bud on- so that should shoot right up.
One year by autumn, had one 8.5ft and tried to train it into a curl but it got fucked. This one is a youngun and should still get pretty nice as well as tall- looks full of vitality.
here it is ~the side of it~ as seen stoned through a small monocular

Cornus mas, an edible Dogwood, seedlings in April and air layering of Cornus mas.

Third year trying to germinate them, what worked, stratified them in the fridge with spaghum from September to Nov. , then putting out in the weather for winter. Zone 6, I left the bulk of them in the fridge, and put them out in April none of them germinated yet.

think it's coming along alright, was wondering if i'd fertilized too heavy at first.  leaves seem much twistier than I see most elsewhere, looks like dancing squidward or something..

recently pulled the last head of lettuce amd just started more seeds, want to see how they do for the fall.
