sorta wild style garden, species help

we got a shallow pond marsh that is about 1 acre big.  last year we dug part of it up so its deeper and we have some water in the summer.  so now there is a pile of really nice dirt to teh side of it.  what im doing it leveling it off so ill have about 30'x10' garden space with it elevated about 4' above the water.  this will also reduce, probably eliminate, the need for watering.

so now im stuck.  im not building anythign for the thing, i want it all plant no human steaks, tubs etc.  i basically need help with plants that can be left in ground for a bit without picking (so i can pick when i need instead of storing).  also preferably things that can be eaten raw and/or dont require too much effort in the cooking end of things :smile:

things i definatly am growing:
carrots
corn (mainly as steaks for stuff to grow up)
split peas (maybe beans as well)
tomatoes
potatoes
collards or lettuce (havnt decided, maybe collareds for nutrion side)
parsley, obviously
broccoli (maybe)


things im specifically avoiding:
any form of squash or zuchini
beats



so what do you guys think would work good.  for those that dont mind reading more here is my first plan for.  have 2 rows of potatoe/tomatoe (mix them boy/girl style) arouns teh corn leaving good room.  basically filler between corn and collareds.  have 2 rows of corn somwhat in the middle going the length.  have the vines (peas/beans) growing up the corns (native style).  the rest like the collareds and broccoli and such can be placed around the outside in order of height.  shortest being at teh farthest outskirt (for light reasons).
