@Bigworm - good question - Nope, if you want to participate in this month's round, just post a new "i'm in" message and add your pic to that post whenever available before month's end. I'll then update the participant's list with a link to your "I'm in" message.

hey bird, just had a thought take it or leave it:
maybe have entrants dm after posting to make it onto the list for the month and leave the entry window open for 7 days (or some set number) and close after. it'll be a lot of work keeping all this straight I'd think if everyone can just be "in", you'd have to continually compile every entrant every day for every month lol

@jbgtaa - thanks for the thoughts. Might need to do something like that at some point future. It’s not too hard to track at this point and I’m trying to do all I can to make entry as easy as possible, in hopes to get a solid base of participants from month-to-month.

I’m hoping the remaining participants from May that have not yet voted will send in their votes before the end of the day. We dis get a good number of votes registered, but would be nice to see closer to 100%. Folks get busy though….

Thanks again - I’ll give some more thought to your suggestion.

Alrighty! Now that the first round voting has concluded, and until we know the winner once the votes are tallied:

I’d like to ask for a little “after-action analysis” from the 1st round participants:
  • what went well?
  • what could have gone somehow better?
  • and any new ideas for improvements to the contest/participant experience?


Thanks in advance - just wanna make this a fun and valued monthly thing here and am fishing for any insights.  I’ll do my best to try to implement suggestions.

I like the idea of adding the month we’re on as well, and I’d say what the parameters are for the winner but since it’s up to us the participants I think were fine for now and are picking what we think is the best to us

I think we need to have closing dates as opposed to allowing entries all month.

Telling voters to hold off to the last day and allowing till the last day seems problematic.

Maybe 5 days prior close entries. Then gives voters enough time. IE. I voted early cause was going on vacation and didn’t want to miss my vote last month.

This. Maybe keep it like the lagm thread and update the original "I'm in" post with the month and new pic.

So, every month we can click your link to our post, we delete last month's entry picture, change the month, and add the new entry picture.

It will help keep the page count and your linking every "I'm in" post down to only completely new entries.
This would take a lot of your burden off of you and probably be easier for you to spot new entries that need a link.
Maybe have people that don't have a link put "I'm in, month, "link me"" and when you do make the link, they can delete the "link me"

I like the way you think, Bigworm, because you are talking/planning as if all/most entrants will continue to play month after month….I’d love that, for sure!
