JUNE 2026 GROWER’s BEST PHOTO CONTEST is live and underway. To enter, post a pic - that’s it! Rules are on Post #2 of this thread, recently updated. Entries-to-date for June are found in the posts above.

The June CATEGORY will be FRUITS (actives or non-actives, fungi only).

Voting will be via a poll-style ballot, available from June 25 to end of the month.

The FABULOUS PRIZE this month for the winner will be a downloadable custom certificate.

Thanks to all for helping with the rules revisions, and best of luck to all!

They are categories for competition - any person can join some or all. Make multiple posts if entering multiple pictures. All participants get to vote on all pics, in every category.

Why vote for all at once instead of just having one theme at a time though? My initial point was that it would be fun and challenging that you have to follow a theme to enter, not that we needed all categories at once :lol:

this is also cool, more People will be able to join but I myself would prefer a "main competition" with a theme changing each month.

Also, about themes, we could add plants and such to increase the interest of this contest. Anything cultivation related, even cultivation gear and such, could fit as a theme. Not just mushrooms and this makes it easier to not "run out of" themes in the long run.

And once again I also think we should remove voting for yourself, or if we decide to allow self voting then why not push peoples' morals and have a public voting? So if you decide to vote for yourself you have to do it in front of everyone.

@flapping_bird: PLEASE PLEASE reconsider the multiple categories at once!
I think categories serve not only to steer the competitors in their picture, but to narrow down judgment between voters too.

That's what I meant by 'picking out of the hat' rather a randomised SINGLE category. The inclusivity of this multi entry is cool, but will be carnage I think...
Any thoughts about that?

I also disagreewith you @Skansk about including plants, growing gear etc. There are thread like "cult pic of the day" and "new tools of the trade" and round here people tend to post in the thread they're used to/where 'their people' are. So with too much crossover, threads die.

I think the challenge is participation. There were only 20 in the general actives category. Imagine the turnout for a single "stones" category for the month.

I think the inaugural competition voting showed that most people will not vote for themselves in this pretty laid back, for-fun, friendly competition. But I understand some people's concern, I just don't think it's that deep. Let's just have fun with it!
