I'm excited to see how they do for everyone!  And happy that we're getting more mycelium photos

So far the germ plates are really clean. You did a great job with the swabs TF! :awesomenod:

They came from larger prints so I could share more spores.

So, probably a lot cleaner than a gill swab.

Still I'm glad to hear that

I did some prints and gill swabs of the Pan BS RS on Thursday. I’m starting to get into the mindset of preserving genetics for future use so I can wind down a lot of my cultivation. I’m making plates right now of certain things so I can specifically criovial them and spawn for spore prints and swabs. I grow faster than I can use or give away. I don’t have the heart to toss or compost anything. And selling or trading is not even a remote option or possibility.

DERRAYLD said that he's revived prints that are over a decade old from the fridge.

I have a culture fridge that's kept at 50f.  And my prints are in plastic bags inside of a small mylar lunch bag.

Just ran a bisporus that's over three years old (and was already over two when I got it).  Not sure how it was stored before though.

Yeah I’m thinking I will make prints and swabs and vac seal those after each genetic is done. I don’t have a fridge to store them in, but I do have a dark dry temperate place.

My thick casing experiment is pinning, but nothing visible yet on the others (and I had to redo three of them so they are behind).

So five days in fruiting, and I believe nine since it was cased.

Edit - A day and a half later.
Everything is pinning or knotting aside from the two with plants.  Including the make up trays.  They have a bit different substrate though.

The swabs seem really clean. Got some great mycelium on the first drag. Already transferred,  hope to put some in grain this weekend

:dancingshroom:  Looking good CSRG! :dancingshroom:

I'll probably have this moved out of my journal once I add the casing prep.  But here's how I'm currently running things if anyone wants some pointers on anything like AIO or surface conditions.

These are my charged biochar plus azo casing experiments.  Ahead of my other containers and a nice pinset on both of them.

I will definitely be rerunning this to see if it's the charged biochar or the combination of it and the azo.  And seeing how other species like it.

Does this look reasonable for pan myc? I had some rough transfers from the germ plate, because the agar was soft to the point of being a bit floppy, but transfers from here (low nutrient but firm agar) should be easier.

Yeah those look good. It's a bit disorganized but that could be because of how wet the wedges are and/or multiple colonies coming from the same wedge.

It doesn't look bacterial anyway.

Harvested a couple of containers this morning.  One is the clone from the OP and the other an isolate, but they both did about the same.

It’s nice to come back from vacation and see this! Those are beautiful! 🤩

My four plates are fully colonized. They are my germ plates and they look really good. I might send the best looking one to grain for shits and giggles and do a couple of transfers from it as well.
