Yeah, just staying inside for a bit and calling someone to be like "hey, I think one of those escaped monkeys is in my yard" is definitely never an option.

Bless her heart.

It wouldn’t take that much, plus you would want to save rounds for the impending civil war.

Disney can go suck a dick. I’ve shot loads of birds in my younger years and often fish, I’m not a princess.

I’m on team chimp. Shoot the lady. She has chlamydia. Quick before she infects someone.

In honesty though, what distinguishes this from hunting or fishing? If we see it as permissible to kill certain animals, why is it wrong for this lady to kill this monkey? Maybe is it because monkeys are too similar to us that we get uncomfortable about them being killed?

Is it because this lady did not have a permit, did not set out to hunt and is not approved by society that it would be OK to hunt this particular animal? Is it because it's a harmless research animal and was meant to have a different kind of life?

I'm not trying to criticize hunting, but it does make me think about when we consider shooting animals to be permissible. The way I see it is, the government considers it ok if there are too much of the animal that it disturbs nature (such as permits for deer). So in that framing it's wrong to kill this monkey because it is unique, there aren't many around. Killing this animal is pointless and doesn't help nature. hunting deer helps others species because deer are in a natural imbalance. (Does this same logic apply to fishing, though?)

She shot a monkey that was reported to contain deadly pathogens.  She has kids.  No more deadly pathogen monkey.

Confused moralists scream ‘why!?’ even though the answer is right there.

Yeah, I think it may be fair to blame the person who claimed the monkeys were diseased, which was the truck driver. The driver had assumed they had diseases because they were from a lab and spread this information to the cops.

The mother justified shooting under the idea the monkey could harm someone else if it walked off. Which was based on this incorrect information about pathogens.

The media reported that the monkeys had a deadly strain of herpes b.  It was strongly suggested that they were contagious.  She was doing her duty as a mother and good citizen.

They even said they had covid:lolsy:

I shot pest/invasive bird species on the farm as a kid. Also ducks to eat. And whenever I catch a fish and kill it I eat it. Hunting is for food. If you’re just shooting animals because you’re keen for a reason to use your guns then it’s ridiculous.

Hope that clears things up.

And if it’s a seriously dangerous animal which is about to attack you then of course you have good reason to kill it as well, but if a monkey is sitting in your backyard not causing any issues and you shoot it because of irrational fears then you’re a dick.

It’s not 100% her fault though, it’s obviously a mentality which is pervasive throughout the US, which she has been exposed to probably all her life and might’ve known no different. That doesn’t excuse it though in my opinion. People need to take a good long hard look at themselves.

God damn man haha, what the fuck were they in danger for? Just don’t go kissing or fucking the monkey and you’ll be fine hey  it’s like you’re a bunch of snowflakes or something. Monkey in the yard? It could have a disease. Must kill it to protect the children!!! There’s no other option!!!

If it’s got some infectious disease, which it didn’t, then just stay away from it. It’s not rocket surgery :herpderp:

It’s seriously amazing how collectively retarded your right wing is. And none of you care about looking retarded as long as it goes with the political agenda. Pains me just to say this. Just a bunch of parrots who don’t dare think for themselves because they have a team and the team must win at all costs. Blows my fucking mind man

and there it is.  You brought politics into the thread. You have an axe to grind from the last time I owned you, and now your bringin motherfukn POLITICS into a thread about a black mother of five kids who shot a deadly contagious monkey.

What the fuck are you talking about?  That is completely daft.Youre the one that brought political agenda into this thread and you didnt even bother to do any research into the case.  YOU ARE FUCKING IGNORANT.

Just for the sake of argument, just maybe the black mother of five in Mississippi is a MAGA supporter, but I really doubt it.  Its really apparent that you assumed she was white and if she’s white she has to be a republican.  Whoops.

It has been an honor, and a privilege, to knock you off your arrogant, pretentious high horse.

That’s right, you can shoot anything that scares you and you’re justified to do so. This is America not some pussy nation.

Damn straight! My favorite is when the toddler kills the parent! The parent should have checked themselves before getting up their face.

The most disappointing thing about this monkey situation is how small her gun was. Was she even stroking her ego?
