Most recent pours I've done I believe the end total was 36 in my undersized SAB. 1 got contam but I am the summer child after all so I'll take it  gimme a flow hood I'd bet on hundreds in ago just cause they stack so nice and slide right out the way unlike all those flat faced and clingwrapped plates

:awesomenod:

Worth adding in an edit, no cleaning or sterlizing needed after the media bottle which got done in a grain run anyway

I can make as many as 20 at a time because that's all I have. πŸ˜πŸ˜†

Personally, I've made about a dozen plates in the last 2 years.🀷🏻🀣

Literally no need other than for fun of trying a new species etc.

I have a few monoculture plates that I sliver from occasionally and G2G when I want to expand. πŸ₯³

Well here I was expecting the typical "plastic waste" thing from you and instead you're dumping 4 times as much as me

I'll concede you're point on this one though, if you're some kind of lunatic that needs 200 plates right now you've got it there.

its a years supply.  i produce my trash in a single day at work.  im as environmentally conscious as i can be, but i dont delude myself into thinking recylcing programs will somehow save the world. "programs" in general are kindof a joke.  like damming a river with twigs and leaves.

Say what you will about me and my cups sir but don't you dare disparage the hard working and industrious beavers that do just that and make it a home for themselves at the same time.

Shit is a joke though. Buddy of mine worked at a local landfill as a sorter and he said 85% just got hucked right into the normal garbage except people were getting paid to do that for us

i heard it was more like 99% but yeah.  whatever helps people sleep at night I reckon.  Ive planted literally tens of thousands of trees and shrubs in my time, so i reckon i can have a little polystyrene as a treat.

Plastics recycling basically started as a PR campaign from the plastics industry.

I'm sure we could easily have ample algal and other plant-based options by now, if there wasn't a group of people dead-set on maximizing their returns on the petroleum deposits and supply chains they control.

That obviously goes way beyond just plastics, of course...

now if we wanna talk nomenclature then i consider a monoculture to be a monokaryotic culture meaning that it was germinated from a single isolated spore vs a dikaryotic which was germinated from two parent spores.

monokaryotic cultures can be verified early in their grow via the use of a microscope by searching for the lack of clamp connections at each septa. if you find even one clamp connection then it's a dikaryotic culture.

monokaryotic cultures are more desirable for breeding.
