So I made this short little clip here to assert clingwrap dominance. I would love to see someone match this time with parafilm.

It's not all about speed. It's about quality. Parafilm also has a lower water vapor transmission rate, so it will help your plates avoid drying out.

I have some stretch wrap I want to cut up and try. I think it will seal a little better than that loose as a goose wrapping you did with cling wrap.

you're right though the speed isn't everything. There's also the totally absurd exorbitant cost of parafilm so there's that too.

Argh! I just unwrapped a couple dozen plates to clean and reuse them. I was thinking "man, the cling wrap is so tight and clean looking, I should take a picture" But I didn't.... If you're wrapping with cling wrap correctly it's tight and clings to the plate and itself. If it's "loose as a goose" it's your technique not the cling wrap.

Here ya go... Nothing loosy goosy here.

And here's a couple Nat pins from that plate

I did take a picture of the stacks of plates I cleaned.

One last thing. Anyone on team parafilm.... Have you ever tried unwrapping a plate you've left for several months? That stuff turns into glue.

Sounds very good, but I don't have this device at the moment. I'm going to try slicing the wrap roll with a sharp blade cutter knife, slowly pushing on the roll. It might take some time, but I believe it's possible to do with a brand new blade. Like this

I've had zero issues with a long utility knife, pressure, and rolling the clingwrap back and forth on a table. Rolling the clingwrap while pressing down creates a straight cut. Never have I felt the need to buy anything to cut my clingwrap.

Honestly it is probably one of the safest ways to cut clingwrap in my opinion. The blade is always facing down towards the table and you aren't making any sawing motions or anything. I'll try to remember to take a video next time.
I found the technique from some post on here though.

I've already done it! It went even much easier than I expected! I extended the blade about 5 cm from the knife tip and started to push it down on the roll, holding the roll with the second hand on the table. I had a silicon mat on the table to prevent sliding. The cut part was in the air above the table edge.
The new sharp blade cuts the roll like butter! I'd say, it's even fascinating how easy and fast it happened. The whole process took me about 1 minute, I just pushed the blade down and it slowly cut the roll. Very accurate and straight cut.
