I've taken up to 40 dried grams and only had a slight increase in physical effects and a slightly longer trip than I had at 9 dried grams. You don't keep tripping harder with increases in dosage unless you're the suggestible type and placebo yourself into thinking "I've had 20 dried grams so my brain must be melting". Your brain only has so many receptors. Once you're past a certain dose - which I'd guess is probably around the 10-15 dried gram mark for mushrooms you don't trip any harder.

Tim Leary used to give people 2000 mikes and tell them it was 250. None of them could ever tell the difference. But if you tell someone you're giving them 2000 mikes the placebo effect kicks in and they convince themselves they're tripping harder.
