When someone says that psilocybe cubensis has .6 % psilocybin and .6% psilocin does that mean that a dry cubie is 1.2% psychoactives by weight? Or is that 1.2 % for wet mushrooms which would mean that dried cubies are about 12% psychoactive material? Hmm.. that would mean an eighth is about 42 milligrams of psilocybin/psilocin.

As long as they are dried correctly it wont matter. wet or dry they will contain the same amount, the weight loss is just water.

wait wait my crappy math skills come out to play...

so, one gram dried cubensis is 12% psychoactives..

12% of one gram is 120 milligrams.. right? That seems too high..

However, if the percentage by weight on all the sites and in the books meant dry weight, then the 1 gram dried cubensis would be 12 miligrams psychoactive, because it is 1.2% psilocin/psilocybin. 1/100 of a gram is 10 milligrams. so it must be that way right?

It is dry weight. Moisture levels in fresh/wet mushrooms are too variable for meaningful psilocybin/psilocin percentages.

even if it was dry 12% is much too high
