wet V. dry

I used the little table in the FAQ to figure out a dosage for a trip and found it to be a little high. We took about 14g of wet bad boys and got ripped. One friend described it as too intense. What are your thoughts on wet/dry comparison?
Am I just weaksauce or do I have potent guys?

wet are pretty much always more potent than dry shrooms so thats a plus. But the downside is they taste more like shit.

If wet contains roughly twice the active comounds as dry but is weighs ninety percent more, roughly. Psilocybin is stable and remains when the mushrooms dries, Psilocin is unstable and is destroyed during the drying process. They both are present in wet but only Psilocybin is present in dry.
So for 14 grams wet. That would equal 1.4 grams dry, then times two. The times two has to do with calculating the Psilocin content in wet mushrooms. So I would say, roughly, that a half ounce wet is equal to at least 3 grams dry. Does anyone else think so?

The definition of wet is quite variable whereas "cracker" dry is much more uniform. The percentage of water in "wet" depends on many factors. The 10 to 1 ratio is only a rough approximation.

usually 6 or 8. It sounds like a lot but the bigger gelcaps are just so hard for me to get down.

I'm a big fan of wet myself but if they aren't gonna get eaten quickly then you gotta do something to keep them from going bad.
I don't understand all the people who hate the taste of wet! I think they taste better than the store bought mushrooms.
I think I'm gonna go make a special thanksgiving salad

Are you sure about the 'X' amount in wet, multiplied by 0.1, then by 2? Is it accurate or does it vary?

I'm not sure by what you mean. But most commonly people say the 10 to 1 ratio. So say you have a shroom that weighs 15 grams fresh after its dried out properly it should weigh around 1.5 grams dry.

I'd know to expect 1/10th of the wet weight but that doesn't take in to effect the potentcy. So how much should a beginner take to expect a good trip?

10 to 1 is an approximation. It can vary as much as 80 percent loss of weight due to dessication. However, Bone, cracker, snap dry is about 10-15 percent wieght of wet. So for X wet take 10-15 percent of weight to get dry. Then the wet musrhooms contain Psilocin as well as Psilocybin. The ratio is roughly the same in wet. So I would times my 10 percent wieght by two to calculate in the Psilocin. So for example,
28 grams wet of cubies, is equal to 2.8 grams dry at 10 percent so say you want it to be 15 percent then add 1/2 of 2.8 that gives you 4.2 grams dry for a water content of 15 percent. Then take that 4.2 and times it by two to add in the Psilocin which means that if you took 28 grams of wet cubies, at 15% dry is 4.2 then times 2, it is roughly the equivalence of 8.5 grams dry. Roughly, there are always variable in mass of mushrooms, water content, and potency.

For a beginer I would suggest around 1.5-2 grams dry or 10.5-20 wet. Everybody reacts diffrent to mushrooms some can take 1 gram and trip balls and some dont feel nothin at 1 gram. I think 2 gram would be good so you could have some control in the trip.
