Awesome, thank you!

I hope to find Ghost again someday - of all the strains, that was my favorite.

These spots all look pretty good to take a transfer.

If you see similar looking spots on the plates in person, and the pics didn't do it justice, then I would take some additional transfers from those spots as well.

I agree with these except top left plate I'd take a transfer further to right, maybe that rhizo top right corner.

This is because the suggested spot is near that browinsh spot of bacteria near far upper left.

Did you photograph these on an actual light table? These are some of the best photographed plates I've ever seen here.

Yes. I have a light pad I use for comic book conservation. When paper is wet the backlight helps tears stand out so you can mend them.

I saw someone mention lighting the dish to see better so that's what I did. 😀

I added your pix, link and credit to my post "Taking better Petri dish and shroom grow photos"

Gave you your first rating too, you deserve it. It's pretty rare a new grower teaches us old dogs new tricks.

I know there are a bunch of those pads on Amazon, but do you have a link for that particular one? I'll add it if so.

Thank you for the kind words and always glad to share. I came to this forum, literally, to aid in growing my own for medicinal purposes. It's put my other hobbies on hold but I love it when you can apply things learned elsewhere. Who would have thought some aspect of conserving comic books (mostly vintage) could apply to shroomery!

Here's the Amazon link to the light pad I used.

Someone please help me. This been driving me insane.

I had strange looking growth so didn't transfers to BRF pucks. Growth looked much better, at least to me. Now I did transfers to new plates 7g mea 10g agar per 500 ml.

Same looking growth again. I did open a plate and the agar felt very hard. Only thing I could think would be a got new agar powder. Could it be that my new agar powder is making my plates to hard and the mycelium is having a hard time colonizing the plates?

if you're gonna mess around with media formulations you'd be better off doing 5 sets of 4 recipe modifications rather than a full 20 of 1 change. I wasted way too many plates chasing the same phenomenon. some agar and malt extract batches perform poorly but it might just be a coincidence that you changed the agar recently. culture epi/genetics is probably sometimes to blame with weird morphology after switching media types too.

probably worth sanity checking for fungal contamination on a little grain tester too.

1) Eat more fiber.

2) looks like that plate might have a hidden friend growing in there.
