Sent some PE to a tub :awegroove: and tried a laymix for the first time.  Grain to coir 1:4.5 lightly compacted and holes left half covered.

AA+ not lookin so hot 4+ weeks in  probably gonna top fruit this one.

Third flush cubes on spelt. That sub is exhausted.

I've given up on the Gyms. Almost two months in, streaked 10 plates, tried forced hydration, tried pucks, zero germination. I thought it must've been me, but then three different pans, mexicana and ingeli all germinated in 5 - 10 days. Exact same circumstances.

I hate that this starts Jan 1, just in time for mold season. I’m having some issues, but here’s the good news.

3/29

I put Semperviva myc to grain.

I put two gymnopilus jars into the fruiting chamber.

I put one pioppino jar into the fruiting chamber.

My shiitake jars are starting to popcorn. Well as much as they can inside the glass.

Well, harvested the first flush of TWxPE6, my best canopy for sure.

But uhh, they are like 4cm, now of course, I still get penis envy, but this is not okay

Still a decent first flush 455g wet. I put the cake back in the tub, a thin layer of new coir and a good mist, hope to get some bigger fruits to print :wow:

Better late than never, I will be posting logs from grows I started but the main focus once those are fruited and prints acquired will be for cubes: Tico F2, KS3, MGxRW, K.Leigh cube, Sharps Crossing cube, and machine elf

Exotics: G. Luteofolius, Pan. Cyan: Burringbar, nightcap, coatepic
Pan. Tropicalis, Pan. Bisporus

Date: 04/02/2025

Put TTBVI and Gemini (FIN) to bulk today, in my experience pan. Cyan. Fruits atypically when put into thicker sub so I am curious to see if that continues to be the case.

Both my nightcap and AJMF had trichoderma which fucking sucks lol. The first it was a very very tiny spot, and for the AJMF it was completely encased so if could not be seen.

Date 04/04/2025:

Cleaning up brainmelt today, put ovoids to grain today in prep for fruiting season and put tico f2 to agar today.

Date: 04/06/2025

Put everything to agar today! I only did streaking the normal way and if those swabs need to be picked up apart I will. What went to agar: Bhutan x India cross, sharps crossing cube, k.leigh cube, zapotecorum, rustywhite, machine elf, k^3, (put tico f2 to agar on 04/04/2025), g. Luteofolius.

For an update on cleaning spores through pasteurization, my control grain is growing well but no growth on the spores pasteurized at 170f for an hour

04/09/2025

My control for the spore pasteurization is about ready to s2b, I guess putting them on agar really is the way to go. I was really hoping I could just squirt them into grain xD.

Did a lot of agar work today, well.... Not actually a lot but I'm working with the MOST contaminated plates I've ever seen. Anything not covered in myc (95% of the plate not myc) was literally green with mold.

My sterile technique was moving slow and never moving the contaminated plated. Taking my time and making extremely deliberate movements. In the end I'm attempting to rescue 1mm sizes pieces of myc lol.

All my oysters are launching off well and should be ready for bulk in a week or two I reckon. So from agar to bulk about 3 weeks. Gosh darn oysters are aggressive!

My aztecorum contaminated, I knew it would but it's still sad to see so much time wasted.

04/29/2025

Boy if has been a hectic few weeks but lots of progress was made! My Omni fin is a trich farm that I'm ignoring at the moment (stupidly) and my TTBVI also got trich but that is forcing it to fruit and I gotta say the fruit I have is fucking massive for pan. Cyan. So far

Tico F2 just got spawned to bulk alongside KSSS and K. Leigh. Tray/shoebox/tray, although my oysters all contaminated I'm trying to fruit them because it all got overlayed and so far the one jar I spawned to bulk with is looking good. I put it in a mixture of wood and coir. It is ripping through it

04/30
Even more progress now, today I got all my remaining spore prints onto a slightly softer agar. One Omni(fin) shoebox is nearly done colonizing, it's slow but steady and should be fruiting within a week if I'm lucky (I made my psueso casing like 2 inch thick and had to scrape some off), the other one is slow as ever. My bacterial oyster shoeboxes each look good despite having overlayed lots of trich.

What I now have on agar is, ps. Zapotecorum, ps. Azurescens, Bhutan x India woodlover, MG x RW, pan. Cyan., pan. Cyan. "Burringbar", pan. Cyan. "MIB", JFK x RW, pan. Cyan. PHV, pan. Cyan. "Wild Veracruz "Coatepec"", "phobos", "machine elf", "Melmac", pan. Cyan. "Peace river", pan. Bisp. "Washington", pan. Tropicalis, "ESS", Bluey Vuitton, Koh Samui super strain, pan. Cyan. "NecD red spore",

My transfers for tico F2 looking good I found a nice rhizo section I transferred, same goes for sharps crossing and k. Leigh.

Cloned my larger than average ttbvi that spawned from my trich infested tub (did you know that contam will make even panaeolus fruit in shit conditions? (No moisture and 68f))

I managed to recover two exotics from the brink of failure, which are neoxalapensis "ayacote", and yungensis "Veracruz".

Doing trenching to see if the thick rhizo growth on the "ps. Natalensis" I bought from Julian mattucci. I'll fruit it and send it for sequencing because idk if I believe it. The paper on it has not been released to my knowledge.

At the moment the only ones I'm not confident in fruiting are zapotecorum, aztecorum, panaeolus bisporus, and panaeolus tropicalis. (Apart from the two exotics I mentioned recovering, I do not know if anyone has fruited those ATM apart from the person I got the cultures from)

As far as I know both aztecorum and zapotecorum take fucking forever so I do have time to learn about fruiting those but the kore experienced of you lot will no doubt know how fucking aggressive panaeolus is. That shit fruits FAST (making pan. Cyan. The best species/genus for breeding imo)

I will attempt doing the India woodlover indoors at high temps to see how it flies as I've heard it likes hotter temps, I will try how ppl normally do pan cyan, and then I will try mimicking the outdoors using a grow light and moss (which I've been told is good for outdoor woodlovers (makes me wonder why no one has tried using it for indoors woodlovers)

Two ideas for that moss thingy, one do a fabric pot like you do outdoors with moss on top and literally water it, and the other being moss on top in a shoebox that is kept in a humid environment.

I'll keep it a buck, I'm just trying to get prints of all my cultures before I move in a few months, otherwise I would be taking this to refine genetics that I've received to get either a stable phenotype or a nice producer.

Huge shout-out to the community for their input while I was building my flowhood, it was invaluable advice. That is the only reason I can do all this, it makes everything 10x as fast and with lower contamination rates. What à fucking joy to have it.

05/15/2025

Tired so today will be short and sweet. Put everything to grain today after finding clean growth in my t1 plates and if those fail I have some t2 plates that are starting as well.

06/05/2025

So I've learned some interesting things, firstly aluminium is not an appropriate container. I've heard conflicting things on this, some ppl have given testimony that it absolutely does and others (even a TC! (though a long time ago)) say that not only does it not but aluminium is not a concern. Here is what happened for me, I sat aluminium in water, something ate holes in it (bacteria from what I could tell) and introduced contam to me TICO F2 grow (fucking bullshit) (P.S.(sorry Axman, it'll be a lot longer till I send you anything regarding your landrace cubensis)). I managed to get prints from both Tico F2 and K.leigh crossing cubensis but not enough for a proper giveaway so I will be running them again.

I've also noticed that these (aluminium pans) don't hold much water or coco coir at all and were a fucking WASTE OF TIME DAMNIT. my MDK grow which is also on aluminium while having a fucking amazing pinset is giving small fruits the first flush. needless to say while i'm not happy with small fruits this does mean that I'll have a lot of prints so my next print giveaway which will be sooner than expected is going to be MDK. otherwise I now have a clone of gemini which did not mutate and have also put bluey vuitton to bulk alongside MDK.

I struggle a lot with imagining someone read this, cubes are so typical and boring are they not? pheno hunting is a different matter but that's not this. I'm simply putting shit to bulk, plain and simple.

I do have interesting stuff coming along, many different varieties of panaeolus and finally got back to tampanensis.

I never managed to get a good pic of the pans I managed to grow. Like 2 pinches of small aborts that I ate fresh, and 0.4g dried. All from 2 trich-infested shoeboxes. But this is inspiring, I will make these work!

Thanks, and yeah I was really excited when I first saw the pinset, but man they went microfruits on me :muppet: It's all good tho, wet weight was about what I get first flush with a myco quart spawn in 15qt tub.

Hope I get some bigger fruits second flush, for prints, the tub looked nice, but man that was a pita to harvest

Update 2025-04-04:

Feeling a lot less lazy today, and since the sous vide lives,

IT'S GRAIN PREPPIN' TIME!!!! BREW BAG FTW!!!!

This is what I've been slacking on. Had a few shoeboxes running that kept me busy enough to ignore the part where I need spawn jars.

In other news, I will be making some grain water agar since it will be super clean!

Hopefully the next pinset isnt as dense and you can get some big ole caps. That what happened for me on my last grow. Kinda crazy how all of you caps had a great even color to them though. 10/10 would eat.

I was doing some looking on the PE6 and Tidal wave mushrooms and it would seem that they get the coloring from the PE more than the tidal wave. Though yours are suuuuper light colored. Just got lucky in the coloring I suppose? The Tidal Waves seem to be pretty big fruit so I’m surprised that they didn’t get huge.

Yeah, but that is kind of awesome, I might get some cool pheno from this grow..I'll do my best to make something great to share.. But yeah, luck is a big part of what I do
