Jesus Christ, I explained what is going on in the manga. Yes, it's fake, congratulations on having an understanding of what fiction is... Aside from that, his off the th cuff analysis of what Toriyama meant as an artist, with regards to the dog king of the world, is laughable. Guy has his head so far up his rear, he thinks there is hidden meaning in everything. Probably thinks it was Toriyama's secret anti IMF artwork or some nonsense.

I just like how every other anime is set in a near-future dystopia in which the youth *gasp* no longer heed their elders.

Without going to off-topic, I will say the Dragon Ball Z’s universe is not a dystopia because everyone who keeps getting killed gets wished back to life with the memory of getting killed. So all of their buildings are actually earthquake proof.

These goddamn whippersnappers gonna eat these tariffs. Try watching your anime with 20% on Japan.

Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me.

Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”

Markets crashed after Trump announced his tariffs. Practically everything from Asia is getting a 30+% tariff.

I remember being a young person and warning that homeland security and the Patriot act were stupid and dangerous. Then in my early 20s these fucks crashed the housing market just as I was going out on my own as a plumber. Spent a decade struggling to pivot, got a really good opportunity then COVID came along made 3/4 of that industry collapse. I won't even address the terribly mishandled response to the pandemic that caused so many excess deaths. Now here we are and these pricks are trying to kill Medicare an SS that I've paid into for 25 years.

So everything wrong with your life is republicans fault?
How does it take 10 years to pivot out of something that lasted like, 18 months?
People have been saying for 25 years that SS will be insolvent by the time we retire, but now's your chance to blame that on politics too?

There is a big difference between assuming that your dad will be dead by the time you're 65 and killing him.

That someone actually typed out "the audacity you have to blame the mismanagement of welfare funds on the Governments policies!" in itself does a good job of explaining how we got here

This is why we can't have nice things

Yes, but I see it as a shared responsibility for both parties. It affects me too so it's not like I don't care. But there is a reason the funds weren't keeping up. Idk who deserves credit for the slip in funding but I think America's financial security today is a lot different than it was when SS was conceived. This country is going bankrupt; so continuing to lazily fund SS while everything else inflates or falls apart isn't exactly a viable option. It's already failing to support the people that are currently getting it.

Sure, the state of SS has been a long time coming. Balls specifically was talking about the acts of the current administration intended to kill it though. I also don't know what you mean by "lazily fund SS..." Social security is funded by specific payroll taxes. It's not like congress adds money to that. Indeed, congress has taken money from it for other uses many times.

Of course...as mentioned, this isn't about the failings of SS. This is about the intentional murder of it by the current administration.

Technically pulling the plug is doing Balls and I a favor then - since we won't have to continue paying into something we weren't going to get anyway. Seems more demoralizing to pay for it my whole life just for the plug to pull itself when I'm 65.

You think they'd end social security and just stop the payroll taxes?
