I put 4 wedges of ovoid to grain today as well as some F1 MS gyms. Taking it down the line.

I also received a cryo today from a good friend with my original Kodama clone back from 2022. Hoping it will awaken and throw some fat dongers again!

After a couple of false starts due to some bad agar (agar was fine, just my bad anti-final yellow food coloring that I added) I have a couple of awsomely healthy x7x+ plates, half of which I've sent to grain 😊

Not the most exciting update but a little milestone for me all the same :yesnod: :yesnod:

Oh dear, your pan trays were the FIRST to pin regardless of other grows looking fuller, prettier, etc.

I've read a million times that Pans go really fast, but WOW! :eek:

These were spawned on March 9th:

This is crazy exciting to watch, and I'm nervously optimistic about getting a few fruits. And I couldn't have done it without this community, thank you to everyone.

Sub is approximately 2:2:1  black kow:straw:verm  plus a handful of coir and some gypsum.

I guess I need to get off my ass and get to pasteurizing some casing!

I just realized I have 15 tubs of various sizes and going 3rd flush with no trich or other contams.

...and that is precisely the downfall of most first timers having pan mycelium stalling on grain, they do NOT enjoy being left for weeks on end and certainly they do not benefit from consolidation like, say, semperviva. Master Blue used to call it 'the wave' and once you catch the wave with them, they move awfully fast. You miss the wave and they might still make it, slower perhaps. There is no 'but i can grow them just like cubes' when it comes to colonization. They will fruit inside an unmodified tub or without manure in their substrate but sadly, the results will never be as good as when they have that imperative boost of nitrogen regardless of the source. Pans are great, i've been growing them for a very long time and it never gets tiring but if you ask me which is the one? the top of the pyramid when it comes to actives? one word = semperviva :heart::heart:

I wouldn't know.. i'm not used to competing tbh, growing pans is all i've been doing since '13 besides the occasional cube variety grow and BH isn't around anymore to keep an eye on me, sadly. Right now i have more trays than time available so everything is pretty much being harvested and thrown into the compost bin. Only around 2% ever make it to full storage. That being said, i'm glad you're keeping track of this thread so i can finally move on and continue my work in the pan thread.
