preserve the fresh ones the same way you would the dry ones, just without a dessicant. put them in an air tight jar or in the freezer or refridgerator. why on earth would you want to not dry them, though?

i would not advise taking this advise if you are going to store them. never feeze or refridge shrooms that have water in them. you will end up with a mess and loose some of the chemical power possibley. dry them if you want to keep them for a long time. if you do what this guy says youll get up with a mushy mess. if you just want to store fresh for a week or so. put them in a paper bag and refridge them. other wise you need to dry them

i heard when drying mushrooms they lose some of their psilocybin in the process.

they dont lose enough that it matters. they do lose a ton of water weight though, meaning you can eat less for the same effect and store them easier.

I was told that you can submerge them in honey to preserve them perfectly, for an indefinite period. Plus i'll bet they taste great =) Anyone tried that?

it could work, i suppose. i dont know much about the properties of honey, but it seems to resist mold pretty well. i think its mostly oxidation that breaks down your mushrooms so if they were kept in the honey completely it might be fine for them. id rather just try and seal them in jars.

I don't think oxidization has anything to do with it, they will just rot away if they aren't kept frozen or in honey...
