The moisture on the edges of the jars should eventually evaporate, just try not to touch them too much if there is a lot on the edges because agitation can cause it to fall onto the surface. You're looking good otherwise.

What Tek are you following for your agar?

Life happened and my cats ruined my GT prints :facepalm: Luckily I got some MIB red spores and WEZA from a giveaway so today I started by streaking those plates. As soon as I get a new flush from GTs I will print them with the x7x+, riptide and AA+

Streaked 3 plates with GT, 3 with P. Djamor. First time using agar, and pretty anxious overall. Definitely have to make some easier-to-see prints next time :lol: I hope germ goes well!

And we have 100% germination, all plates are clean and the galindoi is throwing a big stone!!
Then I woke up and it turned out my plates had of course done jack shit

Only one plate has any action, and it's not good.  One of the Amazonian plates I dropped spores directly onto from the print looks like it's growing bacteria right on top of the spores. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Either way, I'm going to let this plate run out and maybe some of the other spores will germ and I can transfer away. I figured the old spore print might be cantankerous.

I'm joining in with Albino Normak and Wikidzon from some swabs I had for now, I've also got a stubborn spore syringe of Ovoids I want to get going.

I also want to get some pans and other exotics going this year when I can finally get some spores

-We have Life! unfortunately its mostly bacteria but I think I see a little bit of mycelium breaking out on a few plates so not all hope is lost :super:

all of them have at least some of this

If I can't clean these up I'll put some spores to pucks since I still have the swab

-Transfered some of the wikid that germinated, left the rest to see if
  anything interesting or that stands out to me shows up

-Transfered dirty Albino Normaks that germinated to clean plates or brf
  pucks depending on how bad they were

Plates are running, fingers are cross...some of these will be taking the scenic route to get spores to agar, but I am dead set on getting some to work!

All 90mm plates...were LME @ 20g/1000ml agar & ~20g/LME, poured 39 from 1000ml
- let them sit ~2 weeks, one had grew out dirty
- my first ever agar pours (or not)

TWxAPE x 4 via LC
SNAPE x 4 via LC
Hillbilly x 4 via LC
Figi x 2 via MSS
Also did my first transfers from some grown out 3rd eye clones 2 per clone

Am I late to the party? My project for 2025 will be Subtropicalis for the first time, definitely Pans (a few varieties), and trying out the JCM fruiting chamber. Iโ€™ll start this weekend and share some photos!

So i officially started and it will be a learning process for me. Iโ€™ll be editing and updating the progress. As I said earlier I plan to fruit them in jcm fruiting chamber. Will see :smile:
I use 1% MEA plates

Ps. Subtropicalis.
3/01 - t0 plate from spore swab
12/01 -  t1 plates. Spores germinated really nicely and looks fairly clean.

Pan. Cyan TTBVI
5/01 - t0 plates from print
12/01 - t1

Pan. Cyan PHV
5/01 t0 plates from print - I had some problems with a print that I have so Iโ€™ll hope to be able to clean the culture and successfully fruit.
12/01 - I think something is starting to happen but will wait few days

And as bonus ps. cubensis x7x+ but itโ€™s from agar wedge and not from spores.

I am running late.... :foreheadslap:  I accidentally got too high on NYE to do anything but see some potential contam vectors in my new setup. Probably for the best in the long run. Then work has been busy last couple of days, so hopefully I will get to streaking some plates in a bit.

(The funny story of getting too high will be provided later)

Finally got streaked today after taking a whole day to recover from a level of food poisoning I wasn't aware existed without sweet death. 

Since the Stropharia alcis was from an (obviously) wild print, I decided to carefully streak a minute quantity of spores just flake off egregious amounts of spore chunks with my dull scalpel, as is the custom.
Had a fuck of plates laying around from cleanup projects to expand before I could get started

(I realize neox acajete is among them, but I still started fresh for the LAGM.  The ones pictured gave me hell...  I assume starting from spores will take me months less lol)
:petri:My agar is... boiled potato broth:H20 40:60 with a pinch of yeast and a a dollop of raw honey.  It's all about accuracy :harhar:

Wanted to grow a cool non-active forever now.  Had considered panaeolus antillarium (sp?), deconica coprophillia (sp?!), and this one (stropharia alcis) for a while,  but the fact that this one specifically grows from moose dung, I thought it would be fun and thematic to take it full circle.  Mebbe work.  Mebbe not.

Well jack frost project is for the bum grow thread and so I have to do things slightly different for the start of that than this thread entails, so ill start my AGAR work with x7x+:



Really excited about this one, seen so many crazy canopy pics of this type!

I found out my swab style is pretty weak today... I did pluck a bit on the last one (I remembered!), but the rest was comedy. And my outdoor GT prints were hard as a rock. I guess they were still wet when I wrapped them. :foreheadslap:

Later that day:


I decided to go with some classic cubes for this round, just been wanting that tub full of regular ass cubes feeling.  Texas orange cap and Koh Samui for cubes, and Psilocybe cyanescens for woodlovers.  I've got some fun plans for the cyans, more to come.

Outside of LAGM I did transfers of subtrops, put some to grain as well.  Old grain.  Maybe been sitting in jars a couple of months...
