I already emailed and offered to send $25 a month to help keep this place going, but he firmly refused and said it wasn't nessecary, but was a nice offer.

Maybe we could set up our own version of www.norml.org ...... Get ourselves an .org website dedicated to legal info, stopping myths about mushrooms, etc.... An activist's page....
Anyone have any other ideas?

HAHAHAHHA you fool thore. This site is a .org . And I pitty the fool who would send money to aphex. I deserve the money more than he does. I think you all should set up a food fund for me. All those chips and ice creame get expensive. Or maybe just a fastfood fund.

Thanks for the tip Tom, I am aware of what an .org means.... But the equipment and time required to run the shroomery is, guess what, not free 
I would love to see some positive movement come out of this, maybe like McMan says a collection of info, but I would like to see some activist movement to help fight for the cause of legalizing mushrooms...
I mean we all do realize if our government finds out what we do in our homes (not mine of course), they would arrest us and put us in jail! Thats so wrong, I don't even know where to start with why this should stop....
But keep the ideas coming, I bet we could do something special if we put our minds together.... A large community like this has a lot of resources, talent, man power, etc...... Imagine what we could accomplish if we put our collective minds to it.

We could donate the loot to helping to end the prohibition of marijuana. You all know it is a great cause, plus, where would we all be without pot? Wait, maybe some of you shouldn't answer that... just kidding. Anyways, let's do something proactive, I'm down. I have been reading the Shroomery for years, so I would love to give back.

Number one, Aphex - you should seriously consider taking the donation. This is simply an act of appreciation from the responsible users of this forum. If aphex does not want the donation, let's do something that can be felt and touched by someone in need. I am 100% for "the good fight" as far as our beloves fruits go, but lets face it, our society is not ready for legalization. The best way for us to get some respectable recognition is to give to people who are in need.

This is what he emailed me back when I tried to offer a monthly donation. I'm not trying to discourage the idea, just sharing with you what he told me. I'm sure he was just being modest, maybe not taknig me seriously. I think if it costs him anything at all out of his pocket to keep this web-site going, it should be completely covered by members here that use the boards. Even to those who just stop by and read from time to time and don't join the forums, a mention of donations and an adress should be posted on the main page.

I think that the shroomery, erowid, and the lyceaum(sp) should all collaborate (that includes us) and we should take to the development of a real drug awareness. Screw the D.A.R.E conception that hallucingen consumers are weak and cowards. we need to inforce the fact that man can't control nature, and shouldn't be allowed to outlaw it. A database between the three would just be the mecca of drug-related info. yage.net could be included. If we came together, they're wouldn't be a sense of insecurity. there would be less fatal drug overdoses. People could come and get the OTHER side of the story, from the people who know this stuff from the inside. IT would be great, to be the pioneering forces that got magic mushrooms off the schedule one list. Lets do something!
