All money dontated goes towards the somewhat hefty monthly hosting fees, and to hopefully allow us to upgrade our web hosting... There is of course something in the works for shroomery T-shirts that we might need some initial capital to do, but there will be much more info coming in the next few weeks.

The shroomery was born of the lycaeum, if memory serves. used to be shroomery.lycaeum.org.

if we went along with toadlicker's suggestion and gave a lot of money to a noble organization what kind of new attention would that get? would it be good to have any attention at all? i thought it was an interesting idea.

hmmm would be damn cool to make 1 whole site dedicated to explaining the realities of drugs and exposing the shit that DARE has shoved down our collective throats for years...but can we do it??? that's not the question... the question is if everyone can play along... the wise few can but the majority wont and doesn't know how to... causing wars and everything that comes along with it...

I have had a change in heart since I first posted this thread. I figured out that the shroomery is heading in a slow tailspin that was all started when the new boards came out.
I wish that their was money in hosting a site dedicated to illegal operations. But there really isn't.
Try to keep the shroomery a figment of the cyber worlds imagination.

I have faith that it will get better, I'm a positive guy I guess, but its better than fearing the worst ...... btw, I got my moderating jobs from elections, the only one I got without being elected was the mush cult and thats because they needed help and I offered... Aphex's decision to step down came after all that..
Crobih, I don't know what you are talking about, did you email me? I didn't start that project, nor was I involved so what are you talking about??
Again the negetivity returns, Russdogg see's no hope for the future here, Crobih thinks we can't acomplish anything.. I mean do you guys have any faith at all in this place??

Now we have banner ads selling spores.....I know spores are legal now, but think of the future.
If you start spamming out products that can and do produce a class 1 illegal substance, they could and are ever fast becoming illegal in certain states.
I would hate to be a supplier or spores. Even though spores are legal, growing magic shrooms is not. If you give advice on your a web site on how to grow, you are giving people the supplies and knowledge of how to grow.
The DEA could bust their asses for making a million growers around the world.
Illegal is Illegal no matter how you package it....

Russdogg, you do realize High Times has a few spore vendor ads.... The DEA looks at this place like chump change, but you are right we do have some concerns with anything we do here.... But what are we to do, shut down and let the DEA win....?
I'm sure the spore vendors are very carefull, but again I can't answer that since I don't know much about it...It definatley is a tough business to be in, but they are all cool enough to do it for the benefit of so many people....
So Russdogg, do you suggest I unplug the shroomery? Is that your wise solution, if you can't beat them, give up??

More like....If you can't beat them, don't let them know about it.
We should try and be more aware that what we are doing is against the law. I think that in the next 5 years spore will come illegal in over a dozen states, and providences.
Then what? It will all be because we commercialized our hobby.
I don't think banner ads of spore vendors is the way to make money. It just brings more heat.

Spores will be available from other countries anyways, even if they got banned here in North America... So obviously they would still be available, dogs can't sniff out spores
Maybe I should have you join a committee I'm thinking of, I want a group of people to come up with rules/code for this board so that we can enforce what makes sense... I'm willing to listen to whatever people have to say, after all I don't want to see bad things happen to this place.....

I think that it would be best to seperate spores and cultivation supplies from growing teks.

This place has kinda turned to crap in the last couple months. I know many, many people who say this is correct.
I figured out why its such a dump... everyones so quick to jump on a Off-Topic post.
If people don't reply to gay, off-topic post then people won't post them to begin with.
I say..."let most of the threads stay." If it looks like cultivation, smells like cultivation. It just might be.
What I am so ticked off about is that you moderators like to close a cultivation thread that sorta goes off-topic a bit.
If it starts out cultivation.
I say let is stay.:)
I like internet board where the moderators like to sit in the background, and smoke a spliff. I don't think moderators should be posting more then the other members, and showing there force.
Its like a dictatorship.
