Alright maybe I should have checked all the bags before I posted this last one is the best.

Been busy lately partner pregnant and sick so I have picked up the slack with daddy duties, mushrooming comes second to that. Long story short these guys just got left to turn into antlers.

I’ve never seen reishi starting out before, I had no idea it looks identical to lions mane before it gets a shell.

I also just found some mushrooms coming out the filter, on a little block of pinks I wrapped up to try and stall fruiting.



My lions mane is finally going. This is by far the slowest I’ve ever seen, I didn’t even think th would fruit anymore. Two of them I cut open on 6/28, the bottom right one I cut open on 7/7 and it seems to be doing the best so I guess maybe they just needed more time to colonize.



When I first got the LC I put some on a plate to store the culture, it fruited and I cut a piece off and dropped it into a new lc so I’m hoping it’ll do better. I’m pretty sure the lc was just expanded to the point it’s degrading but it was also extremely hot outside so I figure I might as well run the new lcs and see if the originals were just half cooked and that’s why they’re so slow and weird.

So my Pioppino is pinning on top but also all over the sides. Do people fruit them like cakes or should I just let it go?



One of my little pink blocks turned into a rose. I thought it was deformed when it was pinning cuz instead of a solid cap it had fingers, but now they’ve all expanded into smaller caps.

It doesn't normally look so much like lions mane but that one does I thought the same thing.

Thanks! They're in a grow tent since it's quite dry where I live in the summer. I'd like to try a few buckets outside and in the shed this winter though. Keeping the tent clean is a bit of a PITA.

I keep it mid 70s for temp and around 85% humidity, with constant air intake via a 12v computer fan stuffed into one of the vents.

Damn that’s a ton of mushrooms in one cluster. I just put my first golden block into fruiting hopefully it does something similar.

Got a whopping 90g first flush off a 4lb block of lions mane :facepalm:



This is what I was talking about the other day with the cultures liking sterilized sub. Black pearl, same spawn, bag on the left is sterilized and bucket tek on the right. To be fair the sterilized one has like 30% more bran than the bucket one but I can’t imagine it having this drastic of a difference.





Can I do anything to get these center pins to mature next time or is this just how pinks look??



Thinking maybe side cut instead of top might help.

On a weird side note, I threw a bunch of pinks in the dehydrator and when I took them out my dog was checking things out so I broke off a tiny bit to give her. She hasn’t stopped begging for more since. I think she likes dried pink oyster more than meat even.

I think I managed to match the vendor parameters for this piopoino culture, none of their others are showing signs of life unfortunately

These pins literally plumped up overnight

First run of XLSA bags.  Makes the 14As look like toys.  Bags are about 6.6Kgs (14.5lbs) each.  Comparatively massive!  Kind of remind me of a small bag of dog food.
