look at my fucked brain

this is crazy.

So i work in a neurobiology lab, because im a neuroscience student. Occasionally i help out with the data collection in the MR room. We use a Seimens Magneton 3T scanner to collect MR data.

So in between subjects we had some downtime, and i asked to get a volumetric (MPRAGE) scan of my brain. These are like crystal clear scans, especially on a 3T machine. This is what it looks like:



Notice the abnormal size of the right ventricle? Yah, so did I! A little freaky.

But i function normally, and assuming it isnt a progressive degenerative disease, then i get to be happy knowing that im abnormal in yet another way :P

Felix:  What are the effects?  I have no clue.  I'm a normal functioning, intelligent person...i just have an abnormality in my brain.  I've heard a statistic that about 10% of people have some kind of abnormality, although my impression was that most of the time its in the corpus collosium (the fiber tract that connects the left and the right hemispheres)
