I tried going carnivore early this year, maybe late last year, to see what all the fuss was about. I’d say it was easier than going vegan for a bit, but I hit this wall where my body ran out of stored carbs and I felt like I was gonna die lmao.

They say if you can make it past 3 days or so with the keto flu you come out the other side feeling great. I couldn’t do it. But for the first few days going carnivore I felt no hunger. I was fully satisfied and needed to eat way less

I have a close friend that will get going pretty hard on Keto, once he gets in the groove he seriously adheres to it. He talked a mutual friend of ours into it and about a month in he came down with a severe auto immune disease that caused him to break out in severe rashes. After months of testing they really didn't have any answers and he ended up picking up a drinking habit. The rashes went away pretty quickly. His theory is that the Keto diet did it, luckily he didn't turn into a full blown alchy over it. We were worried for a bit.

Beyond Meat, a plant-based vegan "meat", was so hyped a few years ago.  In 2019 the stock price was $166 and today it's $6.60 . . . The company was founded by  Ethan Brown, who also serves as a manager of Planet Partnership, LLC, a joint venture with PepsiCo.

Mock meats are not part of a healthy plant based diet. Mock meats are considered processed and unhealthy. When I and most vegans talk about eating a plant based diet, it's unprocessed natural carbs, proteins and fats.
You omnivores are downplaying vegans by deluding yourself into thinking there's no difference between processed and whole food carbohydrates.
I've said this earlier in this thread but the dairy, meat and industry have been caught corrupting studies to say meat, eggs and dairy don't cause disease.

There is a difference between processed carbs and natural carbs, but regardless of that, eating too much of one constantly thing is bound to cause problems down  the road. Our bodies are not meant for that type of diet.
I have never heard of eggs causing diseases lol.

The reason I failed at keto and suffered with keto flu was due to not eating enough fat.  It's very common for people trying keto to fail to eat enough fat.  I read a few dozen testimonials before experimenting with full carnivore. For most people it takes 4-6 weeks for their body to adjust to no carbs. In rare cases it takes upwards of 8 weeks to become "fat adapted". For my body it took 4 weeks.

After eating carbs for 50+ yrs, yes there were some uncomfortable aspects to eliminating carbs - that I was prepared for (they matched what others reported). It takes time for the gut biome to adjust.  I decided a month long experiment wasn't going to kill me, and it wasn't too bad.

After 1 month I felt great.  3 days into the experiment I noticed my gut felt differently than I've ever felt before. It was strange. 2 weeks in I noticed positive mental health changes. After about 6 weeks my skin cleared up, my body odor changed (I smell fantastic) and my sexual functioning took off like a rocket ship.  It's like I'm 30 again.  I feel like my testosterone has surged.

Alzheimer's is often called "type 3 diabetes" because of the similarities between the brains of people with Alzheimer's and folks with diabetes.  These metabolic disorders are related to carbs and insulin resistance.  Many researchers believe 50-70% of Alzheimer's cases can be avoided via diet.

We know carb based diets often fuel neurological problems, such as epileptic seizures. High fat diets have been successfully used on epileptics since the 20's.  People with depression, bipolar, ADHD, etc should try a high fat diet before they commit to a psychoactive drug regimen.

That’s awesome man. Did you happen to have severe dry mouth as well, or was that resolved with proper lipidation? I had cottonmouth that was basically unresolvable.

I was adding fat and adding fat but if I remember correctly people were saying you’re supposed to have something wild like 70% of your calories come from fat. Idk what is supposed to be, exactly.

People who go carnivore often report exactly what you do.

To be truthful, I’m still skeptical because I was unsuccessful. I’m going to try it again eventually because some people report their allergies just vanish, and I have very bad allergies. Even when I’m eating clean strictly my allergies don’t get any relief.

Yeah, the whole question of what is the right amount of fat is a bit perplexing, and it has taken me a lot of trial and error to get it right. One thing that seems to be accurate, if your gut motility is low, and things aren't moving, you need more fat. I've finally found an amount of fat that works for me.

I've not suffered with dry mouth.  One of my symptoms weaning myself off carb based diet is was lethargy - and chronic yawning. Yawning is often due to a vagus nerve issue. Don't have a clue what was up with that.  I wasn't working at the time, so taking naps to deal with the low energy was not a problem.  It eventually went away - both the yawning and tiredness.

One thing people often report when getting off carbs is that their dream life becomes intense and dramatic.  I have the crazy and vivid dreams now.  Some of my dreams are like epic movies.  I wake up and say to myself, damn - that was one wild adventure!

I appreciate the irony of a conservative flexing on liberals with Japanese beef. American beef not good enough for you? Too lazy to find some local heat?
