Eating meat * 3
    #28839106 -

Do you guys on the shroomery think it's good for you ?

Ate some steak off the BBQ that was really good

Lots or shwarma. Italian sausage & Greek food like gyros too. Wanted to make some ribs in homemade pasta sauce

A lot of information contradicts and it's hard to tell what's true. I think it's good though

Got really used to hunting & butchering boars over the winter. It was pretty shocking at first. Seeing them get shot and stabbed / butchered up. Going to do more hunting for a bit in the fall

I was vegetarian like my whole life until my first pregnancy.

I’ve been eating meat ever since, too much of a libertine to give it up.

This is something I’ve gone back and forth on, lately I eat meat, but most of it it is from what I hunt. To kill in order to eat is something strange, but there is gratitude and respect that go along with it. Nature is brutal, I watched a crow outright kill and carry off a squirrel in my yard the other day. Circle of life

Like I said though I’ve gone back and forth on this, and if I’m gonna eat meat, I feel I need to kill it in order to understand where it comes from. Been doing this the last few years. I don’t watch many shows but you ever watch Alone? Season 7 is pretty epic all said and done. I like that it shows this reality :mushroom2:

Consuming flesh and blood will keep you alive in the short-term but bogs you down long-term. I noticed, visually, everything had an iridescence to it when abstaining from animal products. My head was generally more clear as well and I felt cleaner.

Ephesians 6:12
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Psalm 12:6
The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
Hebrews 11:3
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
Revelation 3:11
Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

Of course eating meat is good for you… just don’t only eat meat. Eat a balanced diet. That’s all there is to it.

If anyone tries to tell you any differently they’re full of shit. We’re omnivores and we eat a good varied diet in ideal conditions. Nuts, fruits, dairy, meat, eggs, grains, vegetables; it’s all good.

Just don’t burn the shit out of your meat and eat the burned stuff, apparently that can be carcinogenic.

I like meat too much to ever be a vegetarian. Ethically or morally or whatever I wouldn't mind being vegetarian, but there's no way I could ever give up meat. As to which is healthier I bet that vegetarian is probably a little healthier for you.

I can't live my life without bacon though.

Yes its good for you. One thing to watch out for is the fat, especially if you physically hold fat. That can build up in your arteries and cause a ton of issues. You can get a lipid panel from the lab to check your levels.

Eating meat in principle is perfectly healthy. However, as with anything, it's also easy to fuck it up by consuming in excess, or through preparation methods that increase risks of e.g. intestinal cancer. This is all amply supported with reliable, clinical evidence.

Eating meat in moderation is perfectly healthy. I still choose not to, but not because of it allegedly being 'bad for you'.

It’s not bad for you… surely that’s a load of crap or it’s been misinterpreted? Who is saying that?

Meat is good for you.

Anyone who says otherwise is a whackadoodle.

Humans didn’t evolve for over 200,000 eating fake soy bullshit and whatever trendy nonsense is being pushed as an alternative to real natural food.

Do you live in a cave? Do you walk around with a spear hunting wild animals? No? In my personal opinion, it isn't natural and, so longer not necessary  if you live in a first world country with access to internet and clean plant based foods.
What nutrients in meat, dairy and eggs can't you get from plants? Cholesterol, saturated fat and trans fat are horrible for the body.

I think if one eats a strict vegetarian diet, he will experience Vitamin B12 deficiency.

What these vegan weirdos don’t understand is that cholesterol is the building block for all human hormones.

That is why all vegans are tiny, frail, and moody.

They don’t realize how ridiculous they sound by saying nonsense statements like ‘eggs are bad for you’, etc.

B12 supplements are cheap. Plant based milks are fortified with B12. And furthermore, why is B12 in animal products? Farmers give animals a B12 supplement and that's why B12 is in animal products.

Quote:
Cholesterol is a waxy, fat-like substance found in all cells of the body. Cholesterol is produced by the body (primarily by the liver) and is also consumed from food, referred to as “dietary cholesterol.” The human body makes all the cholesterol that it needs, so it is not necessary to get cholesterol from food.

Quote:
Cholesterol is a waxy substance that your body needs to function. Your liver produces enough cholesterol to support your body's processes. So, you don't need to get it from food (and it's not an essential nutrient). The cholesterol you gain from your diet is extra and unnecessary, like adding sand to a beach.

That’s interesting, but you’re not making the case that meat is unhealthy, you’re making the case that people don’t need to eat meat anymore if they put enough effort into excluding it from their diet in a healthy way.

Saying that eating meat is not natural is just dumb though. Of course it’s natural… but just because something is natural doesn’t mean it’s good.

Meat is healthy to eat as long as you eat a balanced diet.
