dehydrator on ebay??

My buddy was looking at an nesco food dehydrator on ebay. What do  you think about that brand? Anything he should know before buying it? What are some good things to look for in a dehydrator. I belive it has a fan and a heating element. My buddy had one a long time ago that only had a heating element and he knows thats not the way to go. :mushroom2:

i just bought a salton dehdrator on ebay for like $15. I makes the drying process a lot more convienent. does anyone think the heat will cause the shroom to lose much potentcy? or is the dehydrator's little amount of heat not enough to harm the shroom?

Many dehydrators, I use the term "many" loosely, are about 100 degerees on low. The thermal death of psilly Sybin is about 106. So, it is unlikely that the potency is effected much if at all. There are several reputable people on here that swear by them. Hope this helps.

psylocybin will take higher heats, 106 is death the mycelium

as for drying them I recomend a fan and a window screen...

Try 2nd hand stores when you are looking for a good dehydrator.

I find alot that have never been used at 2nd hand stores...and they are cheap.

A really good brand is the American Harvest Snackmaster Dehydrator...it has low heat settings...dial it in on a low temp and you are golden.

If that's the one that switches between 95-155, this is probably the same model afoaf has used for the last year or so. Not that it actually get's much time in use. It works quite well, it can dry large amounts overnight with heat turned down to 95.

Yup, Got it at Wallymart and disconnected the heater element.
Works great! 2 days in the Nesco and 1 week over Damp-rid
in a tupperware container.
