yes. those are the ones. if they are slightly harder to see through, you can cut eye holes. i cut eye holes because the bags i have are not 100% see through. but the eye opening doesn't cause any problems. the bigger bag makes for ease of use. i can fit something like 50 quarts in one bag. so i can do all my work in one sitting. i only have to load up the shmuvbox one time. with my 110 quart SAB(a rather large SAB) i still can only fit 20 quarts max and im constantly clunking it around. i also would have to wipe down and load the SAB several times to achieve what i can do in one 55 gallon bag with a shmuvbox. shmuvbox>SAB for ease of use and making large amounts of spawn. I do use a SAB. but i find myself using the shmuvbox far more often. the SAB i only use for a quick setup with a small amount of work i need. when i have a 100 quart spawning session. the shmuvbox rules.

i wipe em all down with alcohol before they go in. i do 20 at a time. i could do more but the table i use is a little more narrow than the previous space i had.

Yeah you can definitely fit more if your table is big, especially if you don't mind shoving the jars up against the bag.

Most of the time I start with a lot of jars inside and I remove them one at a time after inoculation. So the space for moving around increases as I work even if it's really cramped when I first start.

yeah me too. i did a 10 year clean on my hepa unit. i opened it up and wiped down all the moving parts on the inside with bleach wipes and alc. so far im 80 for 80 quarts all almost colonized in a week! off a 2 year old clone.

how are the units still keeping up?
i have a purifier i hardly use, may put to good use.
working with bags currently, just trying to get my grain prep 100 percent right been a few years since i last did this.

as long as you swap out the filters and use new bags as needed everything is as it still was.  :thumbup:

I havent used mine since I have a giant SAB now but I still have it if needed.

Same here. I made a filter last about 8 years because i only used it for the shmuvbox clean work and id keep it wrapped up between uses.  Worked great for anything over 20 quart jars.  Use a mew bag everytime for sure, ive done plate work, g2g, liquid inoculation in one. I prefer it as the 55 gallon bag allows for 50 quart jars for inoculation easy.

I used a shmuvbox for a long time, and I think 36fuckin5 said it best - it works perfectly no matter how ridiculous you think it is. The TC tags that mean something (I.E. people I consider the second generation of old hands; no disrespect meant to those with hard earned TC tags who have been here a year) are all in this thread saying it works, I know it works, and people out of work are having a hard time affording a flowhood right now. So, bumpity-bump. This is something worth considering if you are having a hard time sourcing the parts or Krona has your cash all fucked up.

My air purifier was cyclndrical and pretty awkward ,
So I bought a plastic tote and a true HEPA air filter used for air purifiers and made a make shift flow box I won't use the word laminar,

Tested a few Petris the other day to see how it work

Does it theoretically matter which way you orient your shmuvbox contraption, depending on whether you are right handed or not, etc?  If you are inflating your bag from one side or the other (would overhead unit on wall with the flow going down be best?), and you wanted to put an induction sterilizer coil setup inside the bag, then does it matter?

Say you are right handed, and will be holding or manipulating jars\bags\dishes mostly with your left hand, and tools in the right. Would you want the positive pressure flow from the air purifier\hepa filter coming in from the right, or the left? Would you want the sterilizer more towards the incoming flow from the AP unit, or farther away towards the exhaust flap holes? Does it really matter which way the "turbulent" air flow is going when holding dishes at a 45 degree angle?

One idea I have is to just set the bag over the coil (sitting on work table) somewhere, and from the inside stuff a glass or maybe a silicone jar that fits perfectly inside of it too (mine is a big 2" diameter coil). Then, it will kinda be like a cup attached to the bag (I know I'll get wrinkles, but I could probably heat form it out), that I can reach over and stick the tool in without leaving the bag at all.

My sterilizer coil project box is rather large, and If I can keep it mostly outside of the bag that would be even better, than to just set it inside. Or, just poke only the copper coil itself all the way through, and tape it up each time..

I guess my main question, is where would the most optimal location be for the induction coil to be inside of either 35 or 50+ gallon clear trash bags? Or is it not worth putting inside at all? Just keep it close by to the right arm slit?

I didn't care. I did both left and right. I think more important than anything is to make sure that whatever you're sticking into the bag is as sanitized as possible. Positive pressure keeps stuff out except for all the shit you drag in there. If everything you put in is pretty clean (IE,jars cooled within the PC and immediately put in the bag after opening the PC next to the bag, and tools wrapped in foil moved to the bag.

The less contamination you drag inside the bag with you the less contamination you'll have flying around in there. The positive pressure will keep contaminants from flying inside but positive pressure doesn't mean contamination that was brought in is going to fly back out.

Yeah I was probably over thinking it too much.

Here is what I meant about pulling the bag (sorry its white, I didn’t wanna waste a clear one yet) into the coil. That way Im not actually dragging anything in, except the tools Ill be poking into it. Not sure if I should leave the bag intact so its completely sealed, or maybe just cut a slit and let it vent through the coil too. Any vapors of anything stuck to a blade would exhaust out while heating the tools, instead of blowing around inside. It will deform the big trash bags when inflated, and make lots of creases around the coil as you can see, but that shouldn’t matter. I would be using a little glass jar or maybe a silicone one instead of the pill bottle of course. Clean every time. Or, if I do end up venting through it, just use a tube or ring instead.

It sounds like a better Idea then sticking the whole coil section directly inside through another slit right? Let alone the whole box its gonna be hooked to.

I’ll let you guys know what I come up with eventually.

Does the sterilizer coil get hot? I'm trying to imagine how contaminants may blow around in there and my gut tells me that closer to the exhaust idea is better

There's no way that filtration device reduces particles sufficiently to produce sterile flow, it's blowing all sorts of contaminant particles all over the interior of the bag, along with any particles on arms, hands, tools, etc.

This is not a great device for cultivation, but because old TCs endorsed it, and produced results somehow, this thread has been unfortunately revived. Psilly and I have gone over this ad nauseum in my stickied thread, but some folks are hell bent on reviving ancient techniques that are better left to the history books.

I'm not sitting here shouting for people to destroy their SABs. Even I recommend SABs to people. The shmuv won't save you from shitty technique.  It's not a crutch to lean on.  I like it personally because of the freedom it affords when moving around.

It's not going to make clean spawn for you, but then again neither will an SAB,

Technique trumps all. Period.
