The should not be little white dots that appear this early either. I would start over.

its worth a shot at this point. I transferred from a piece that barley had any growth on it that might be why it looks so weak, after the transfer point in my germ plate got thick and white. So I'll try the less nute recipe and see if it changes it.

From my little experience of how myc is supposed to look and pictures I see of clean plates on here, it just doesn't look right. Maybe its yeast or mold, I never cared to really figure out because the only important thing to me is if its clean. Maybe I'm wrong and the plate is fine, someone correct me.

also new here, but i think the specs could be the mycelium thickening unevenly. might be weak, might have some enmeshed ick. just wait and see how it goes.

at least your sterile technique seems good, 0mar.  i've gotten sloppy the last couple weeks and it's showing up as bacteria splots in way too many plates. all of the bac colonies are near the edge where the scalpel entered the plate so it's definitely because of me :mad2:

i've been doing 8g agar 6g lme per 400ml. you could also make a batch of water agar, take a transfer from the germ plate, then transfer back to lme agar to clean up what you already have

Ya nfg idk we’re just a bunch of noobs trying make it work :facepalm: I think it looks like that bc I transferred from a piece that had barely any growth and maybe my extra nutrients makes the mycelium lazy? But we will just let it play out and see Whatsup.

Wait longer. As long as the plates are wrapped you got nothing to worry about. I will not be making a transfer from a radial growth that is smaller than a quarter coin ever.

As said before: contrary to popular belief, I have found great success in letting plates grow out so they can establish their own unique growth patterns instead of just taking a shot in the dark on the newest/smallest growth of the most recent transfer.

Hi folks,
Does this plate look promising?
It's very tomentos but only T2 and I think it show some rhizo growth (less fuzzy than my others plates anyway :tongue:)

It does.  That is rhizo, much more so than tomentose.

It's classic LMEA this a touch of yeast.

I m a bit disappointed by this batch because I didn't achieve totally clear agar.
Maybe I put too much of agar and or lme ?

Ok I have a real question:

How is your growth on grains so fucking fast? I would never see that much growth after 8 days. If I didn’t shake my jars after they reached maybe a 1-2” diameter it would take probably 2-3 weeks to see growth like that.

What am I doing wrong?

I think he chops the agar up into smaller pieces. Looks like it has multiple starting points.
